About Iraklis Gerogiannis MD
Dr. Gerogiannis received his medical degree from the National University of Athens in Greece. He completed his residency in general surgery at the Graduate Hospital, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia and his residency in cardiothoracic surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital, Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn.
He was an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Tufts University, School of Medicine in Boston and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Mass.
Dr. Gerogiannis is board certified in surgery and thoracic surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Gerogiannis specializes in complex and minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgery.

Very friendly personality
Everything was great. The Doctor did explain everything very well. And the NP was also very nice.
Very professional and listened to everything I needed to say, which was so very little since he was so through with my health history. Very detailed so you understand, even a model was taking out so I absolutely knew what was going to happen for surgery.
From the women at reception who were a great help to Dr. Gerogiannnis, My appointment was a great experience and made me comfortable with the details and pre-op testing that I will be required prior to surgery.
Every person was polite, informed, and highly capable. Despite this being my first appointment, they knew my history and were quick to offer support and suggestions. It may not be brain surgery but it IS heart surgery, and Dr. Gerogiannis and his team made me very certain that I was in the right hands.
Dr. G and his staff are always very up beat, kind, and great listeners, which is very refreshing for a patient. I always feel well cared for by Dr G. He is unpretentious and an amazing doctor and I'm sure surgeon. I pray he will never have to do surgery on me.
Dr. G is knowledgeable, forthright, and kind. It's nice to meet a doctor who takes the whole person into account when assessing their overall well-being. Taking the time to devise a plan that truly enhances that person's life versus prescribing rote treatments/procedures by the book. He's not a one size fits all doctor. Very impressive!
