Dr. Blanchard earned her medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Boston Medical Center.

She is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology.

Dr. Blanchard cares for patients with all varieties of hematologic and oncologic diseases and has special interests in lung cancer, clinical research and supportive care.

  • The staff is fantastic very kind and caring. All my questions were answered and I was treated more like a person than a patient. Dr. Blanchard is so kind and knowledgeable and really helped by explaining everything, listening to my concerns and created a plan with my input.

  • It was my first visit after being followed by [Name]. Fortunately for me it was a continuation of cancer care. I absolutely loved Dr. Blanchard, and her medical assistant, [Name] (hopefully correct spelling) was also wonderful.

  • Everything went well and on time; everyone was nice. One of the best doctors offices I go to. The only thing I can think of to improve my experience is maybe next time serve coffee and donuts.

  • This was my 1st visit here at this practice and I must say from the front desk staff and all the staff members that came out to call different patient out in the waiting room while I was waiting. Everybody was just so friendly. So kind, you can really see that they care for their patient and I say, that makes such a difference. I would absolutely recommend, you know, South Coast, you know, oncology hematology to everybody that I know it's just the staff really made such a difference that you could see how much they truly care for their patients. It was so delightful to see it especially being a South Coast employee and being a manager myself. So, you know, I really, I really wish that, you know, some of my staff members were that, were that compassionate towards towards me, because it was really just such a nice, nice thing to see.

  • The lab was very professional sending a copy of my bloodwork to my provider at Brigham's.Lab work was done quickly and completely.Dr. Blanchard always listens to my questions and answers them completely and succinctly.It is a pleasure dealing with the oncology staff.

  • All went fast, no wait, very clean, we were spaced out. DR WAS VERY FRIENDLY! Explained everything and what to expect going forward.

  • Dr. Blanchard is WONDERFUL! She is highly competent and delivers excellent patient care. However, staff who answer the phone to schedule appts would not allow me to do a virtual visit and indicated it was noted that my visit needed to be in-person. When I questioned Dr. B about this she said I can do a virtual visit anytime. In-person visits during a covid surge present risk to me as I have a compromised immune system. Timely appts with my oncologist are very impt. The info that the phone/scheduling person provided to me was inaccurate and not appreciated.

  • It is extremely frustrating when the Dr asks after each visit how you want to be contacted regarding lab results and you repeatedly tell them after each visit to call and yet there is never a phone call. If that isn't going to happen then maybe it should not be an option.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
