Dr. Deconda earned her medical degree from the Deccan College of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad, India. She completed an internship in categorical internal medicine at New York Medical College and a residency in categorical internal medicine at Yale University, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital, where she served as a teaching fellow in the division of gastroenterology.

Dr. Deconda is board certified in internal medicine. She is fluent in Telugu and Hindi.

  • Dr. DeConda is a gem! Always professional, kind, caring, she actually listens to the patient and provides the best in Evidence based treatment that is current and works! I highly recommend and can attest to her level of expertise. There is no reason to travel to Boston when you need a great gastroenterologist- go see Dr. DeConda.

  • It was my first Tele appointment and it went well, however, the pulmonary set up was not good. I have to wait a half hour from the doctor to call and it turns out the doctor was waiting for the front office to do some preliminary work with me. So you need better coordination between the doctor and the front office and it seems like it was the front office not drop the ball. Otherwise, it was a good experience. Thank you.

  • At times it felt like the provider was a bit distracted or was only half listening. The appointment felt rushed and impersonal. She was asking questions and before I could fully think or answer she was asking more. It wasn't a bad experience but it could have been better and more informative.

  • I did have to wait approximately 25 minutes past my scheduled appointment time in order to be seen and also when you check in, the system or lack of system is a little confusing because it's difficult to know who's next to check in when you're told, appropriately so, not to hang around the window for (INAUDIBLE) and privacy reasons. I think that that could be improved a little bit. Thank you.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
