Dr. Deconda earned her medical degree from the Deccan College of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad, India. She completed an internship in categorical internal medicine at New York Medical College and a residency in categorical internal medicine at Yale University, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital, where she served as a teaching fellow in the division of gastroenterology.

Dr. Deconda is board certified in internal medicine. She is fluent in Telugu and Hindi.

  • Getting a quicker visit. It was over a month for a telehealth visit.

  • I was told several times thru texts etc that my appointment was at 9:15 at Charlton. I took my dog to day care, drove up from Middletown, and was told my appointment was by phone, not in person. This was extremely poor communication.

  • First appointment with provider prior to scheduling a Colonoscopy screening. Doctor reviewed medical records from prior screenings during visit and recommended Endoscopy screening be considered. Access to site for screenings closer to my home was suggested by Dr. DeConda in Dartmouth which will be more convenient for me. Brief and productive encounter. Prefer a female physician.

  • Was really dissapointed by this provider as she basically said, we checked everything we could, we can't do anything else, here have some pain meds. It's like she didn't even try to think.

  • I felt that Dr. Deconda was very kind, had a sweet bedside manner. Tell me what I wanted to know about what I had to do. And even convinced me to do some testing for my check up that I've been afraid to do. So I really appreciated that.

  • Just give people time to explain things. I feel sometimes Dr are rushed that they have only 15 minutes and if you aren't comfortable you don't have time to relax.

  • I had an appointment I think for 10am or 11 I was in and out within 10 minutes I was shocked it was easy I didn't have to wait long it was awesome and so was the staff .Im a bit worried that I haven't received my results of the test as of yet but I'm sure I will soon.I thank you for making me feel comfortable during my appointment.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
