About David Stebbins

Dr. Stebbins completed his cardiology fellowship at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia. He completed his internal medicine residency at Greenwich Hospital/Yale in Connecticut and then earned his Medical Doctorate from the University of Massachusetts in Worcester, Mass. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst in biochemistry with minors in genetics and chemistry.

Dr.  Stebbins has practiced cardiology in Southeastern Massachusetts for more than two decades. He previously  served as  Chief of Cardiology at  Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River where he worked with many others to bring  advanced  cardiac  services to the South Coast  area including  coronary angioplasty  and cardiac surgery.  Additionally, he has served on several hospital boards.

Dr. Stebbins currently cares for cardiology and internal medicine patients in New Bedford, Mass. He enjoys outdoor activities such as; running, fishing, woodwork and landscaping.  He is married with three children.

  • My experience with Dr. Stebbins and his staff, and office was amazing. Everything was clean. Everything was done in a safe manner. They were very polite and Dr. Stebbins took the time to ask me if I had any questions for him. He asked did I have anything, I needed to talk about that. I didn't understand. He was very patient and actually took the time to explain words, in the kind of words that an elderly person would understand and elderly people. So appreciative of that and I'm one of them, I think his staff and him are amazing physicians and I would recommend that facility and him to anyone.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
