About Charles Eil

Dr. Eil holds a medical degree and Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Chicago. He completed a fellowship in endocrinology at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Eil also completed a visiting fellowship in medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

A practicing endocrinologist for over three decades, Dr. Eil is a member of numerous professional societies, including the Diabetes and Endocrine Society of Rhode Island, of which he is president. Dr. Eil is also a retired Captain in the US Naval Reserve.

Dr. Eil is board certified in Internal Medicine and in the subspecialty of Endocrinology and Metabolism.

  • Dr, Eli was great. The counter people took care of me; however, they never smile or appear like they like to work there. They have a very cold demeanor and it seems like they are doing me a favor by talking to them.

It was probably just a busy day but it took about 30 minutes before I was called in and that is unusual for this office.Dr.Eil was able to help me download an app for my phone that works with my dexcom and made some changes to my medicine and offered more help through a 3rd party. Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Helpfulness of Clerks & Receptionists, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
