About Alicia Medeiros

Alicia Medeiros earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She holds certificates in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Nonviolent Crisis Prevention and is a certified resiliency trainer through the United States Army. Alicia began her career in healthcare working as a registered nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford and Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.

Her clinical Interests include geriatrics, hospice, intensive care, cardiac, neurology, nephrology and urology. She has a fundamental knowledge of the Portuguese language.

Alicia enjoys reading, spending time with her pets, being active outdoors and especially enjoys swimming at the beach in the summertime.

One of the best experiences at the doctors i've ever had! They called me in 1 minute after I had signed in, there was no waiting around which is awesome. Dr Alicia Medeiros was beyond great, she was very kind, caring and personable! I really felt like she was listening to what I was saying and she would answer all of my questions without me even having to ask them. She was very thorough and explained things clearly in ways that I understood. Overall my experience could not have been better!

I'm very thankful for [Name] the nurse, who explained the procedure because he just had it done and he understood my intrepidness. I was basically scared when my stent was going to be pulled out. I didn't know how much pain it was going to be. So he helped alleviate that worry. And also for [Name] from the nurse practitioner who was incredible, made me feel comfortable in the most embarrassing position. But she did a great job. She made me feel very comfortable and she took out my stent with very little, if any, pain. So I would go there again. Hopefully I don't need to go there again, but I would go there again if needed. Thank you.

For whatever reason my previous medical history did not appear in the online MyChart. As a result the information was unavailable to Alicia Medeiros, NP during the vasectomy consult. Alicia was very pleasant, professional, thorough in her explanation of the procedure/recovery/etc., and was a good listener. All the other staff I met and interacted with at the office were very pleasant and professional as well. I don't know how likely I am to recommend a vasectomy to family members or friends but I would certainly not hesitate to recommend this office.

I was see moments after arriving, the first woman I saw gave me a container and showed me to the men's room for a urine sample. A couple of minutes later, I was in the examination room with Alicia Mederios, who was very professional, and made what I thought was going to be an embarrassing situation, into something painless. Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
