About Sophia Rizk

Dr. Rizk graduated from Tufts University and received her Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College. She completed her internship, residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine, followed by her fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University. She is board certified in internal medicine.

Dr. Rizk belongs to a number of professional societies, including the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology and is a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society, Rhode Island Medical Society and American College of Physicians.

Dr. Rizk loves to share her skills through volunteer work, participating in numerous teaching roles at her alma mater Brown University, and by working on many published studies and papers. She is proficient in Spanish and Greek.

From the very first day that I became involved with South Coast I have always felt sure that I was in the best cancer facility. I refused to go to any hospital to be checked, then one day I went to St Luke's and the ER doc set me up with SCCTC. I wouldn't be here 7 years later without them. I love that they stay up to date on all the latest treatments, that's how they saved my life, thru a clinical trial. Love them, tell anyone who I know who is sick to go there first.

This was my first time to this office it was a busy day for them they were very efficient I did have to wait a little while after my appointment time but it wasn't very long the nurse brought me back to the room she was very pleasant she saw I was nervous and sat there with me and talked to me to make me less nervous then the doctor came in she was amazing Dr razik sat down and explained everything to me I don't have to go back anymore but if I do I definitely will be going back to see her

I am TERRIFIED of needles and you guys by far provided me with the best experience I could have with a blood draw. The doctor was so calming and quite literally held my hand through the blood work because she knew how nervous I was. On top of that the phlebotomist was amazing, she got me with one try and the whole process was quick and painless. As someone who's had traumatic past experiences with blood work you don't understand how grateful I am that you guys were so patient and caring with me to make me feel so comfortable. Thank you!

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
