St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary elects new officers

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. – At the annual meeting of the St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary held on September 15 at Bittersweet Farm in Westport, Mass., a new panel of officers was elected for the coming year. The new officers are Gary Simmons, President; Dr. Elisabeth Pennington, Vice President; Jan Hess, Treasurer; Priscilla McDermott, Assistant Treasurer; and Helen Stager, Secretary.

In his acceptance speech, President Simmons highlighted several goals he would like to work on in the coming year, including increasing membership and communication both within the hospital and in the communities that St. Luke’s serves.

The mission statement of the St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary is to render services to the hospital, its patients and its tax-exempt subsidiaries, and to assist Southcoast Health in promoting the health and welfare of the communities it serves. Recently, the St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary pledged $500,000 to the renovations to the Family Centered Unit at St. Luke’s.
