About Robert Schwengel MD, FACC
Dr. Schwengel has been in the practice of general and invasive cardiology with Cardiovascular Associates of Rhode Island since 1993. He received his doctor of medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Science in Washington.
Dr. Schwengel completed his fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore. He is a fellow in the American College of Cardiology and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University. Dr. Schwengel is board certified in cardiovascular disease, adult echocardiography and stress echocardiography. He has special interests in coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure and valvular heart disease.

Dr. Schwengel is very tuned into my cardiac needs and listens very carefully to my concerns. He modified my medications based on my concerns. He and his staff are great.

I liked Dr. Schwengle. I just felt a little awkward because I was sitting on a very low exam table and he was standing the whole time, I had to look up at him which made me feel "small".I had to call after my appointment to correct some medication information and the person on the phone was very helpful. I also used the portal to request my new prescription be sent to the Navy pharmacy and that was done very quickly.

I had to wait awhile to get an appt. but once I got in I had a very positive experience with Dr. Schwengel. He spent an adequate amount of time with me going over my medical history and ask a lot of questions to make sure he knew and understood my issues. I couldn't remember one of the medications I was taking so he asked me to call and let the office know what it was when I got home. I was impressed with his attention to detail.

Had not realized that I needed an approval from my healthcare provider for this visit. The staff in this office went above and beyond in the effort to contact this provider and receive an approval for my visit.
