About Mazhar Jakhro

A graduate of Dow Medical College in Pakistan, Dr. Jakhro completed a residency in Family Medicine at the Brown University School Ð Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island.

Dr. Jakhro has served as an instructor in medicine at a number of colleges including the New York School for Medical and Dental Assistants, New York Medical College in Brooklyn, N.Y., and at Brown University in Providence, R.I.

He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and will see patients 16 years of age and over.

  • There was much improvement between this visit and my previous one with the same provider. He listened more attentively, and gave better explanations for things he suggested, showing that he heard what I said.

  • what I like about [Name] is that from the minute you walk in, the people know you, they're like "Hello Mrs. [Name]." or "Hello [Name], how are you?" Fom the moment you walk in. And then when you go see the triage nurse, she's...they're all dolls there. And then you go see your doctor. Dr. Jakhro is the greatest. He's nice, but he'll get mad if you don't take, if you don't do your blood he'll tell "You need to have that blood test." And he'll tell you. But then when you do do you blood, and I had a good blood test, he was so happy for me. He put a little note in my record and everything, and when I saw him he was happy. He elbowed *

  • Everyone was kind, respectful and made me feel comfortable

  • Doctor had an open face shield with a surgical mask, was not covering his nose while he was conversing with me which then created airborne particles and possibility of Covid even though he has had a vaccine. I think that was inappropriate.

  • Telehealth was seemless. Nurse was great. Doctor was not personable, he was distant and not well informed.

  • Everybody I dealt with was so pleasant. That has not happened here before. I was pleasantly surprised.

  • There was great concern for patient and provider safety relative to the dangers of Covid spread.

  • My primary care provider Dr. Jakhro is very knowledgeable, very personable and very easy to talk to. He is up to date on all the information in my folder and he answers all the questions that I need asked and asked more just to make sure that I'm not missing anything. So I would rate him very highly. I think he's an excellent physician.

  • I just want to leave this feedback for Dr. Jakhro my health conditions our extensive. He found out he had me switch it over to him as a patient this morning and already had read my extensive history before I even got in there. I didn't have to repeat myself. He had already read all of the notes and was well educated on them. He was a very kind man. He went out of his way to make me feel comfortable and I am very happy with my decision to go to Dr. Jakhro.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
