About Mark Desnoyers

Dr. Desnoyers came to the Southcoast region in 1989 to establish the first community hospital catheterization laboratory (“cath lab”) in Massachusetts. He has served as the director of St. Luke’s cath lab since its opening in 1991.

Dr. Desnoyers graduated as Valedictorian of his class from Dartmouth College before heading to Harvard Medical School to earn his medical degree. He completed an internship, residency, and fellowship in cardiology at New England Medical Center Hospital in Boston, where he also performed his cardiology fellowship and ultimately became a faculty member and associate director of the adult cardiac cath lab.

Dr. Desnoyers is board certified in internal medicine with a subspecialty board certification in cardiovascular disease.

  • GLAD TO SEE TYE SAFE DISTANCING AND THESANITATION ONCETHE PATIEBTS LEFT THE WAITINGROOM. IT WAS GOOD TO BE ABLE TO SEE MY DOCTORAFTER A 3MONTH QUARANTINE.

  • Only dr appointment that I go too that the dr listens to what I have to say , and explains my meds and why I need to take them , all staff is very nice

  • Process for getting in contact with the office upon arrival needs improvement. I called the designated phone number, as instructed, upon arrival, and never received a response, so after 3.5 minutes I rang the doorbell and someone came to the door immediately. Patients should just be instructed to ring the doorbell, not wait in an endless call loop on hold.

  • Dr. Desnoyer was very friendly. He spoke so that I could understand him. Not in medical jargon. His staff is very friendly as well. It was my first time seeing this provider and it was a very pleasant experience.

Then the first nurse that took me out back and did my vitals was just as friendly!!! The whole staff (and I was seen by 4) were all very helpful and informal. The nurse, that took my blood, couldn't have been nicer. And don't get me started on Dr. Desnoyers. Every time I have seen him he has eased my mind about my heart attack and the condition my heart is in. I feel so much better after I visit your facilities.

  • There was no wait for someone to address me and assist me with check-in.I had a very short wait until directed to an exam room, Despite having to wear masks, due to the corvid 19 issue, I felt comfortable and at ease. I could "feel" the smile behind the masks. Dr. Desnoyers gave me enough information about the next steps and why there might be some delay in getting the stress test scheduled, but assured me that the wait would be as brief as possible and if I had any questions to please ask. I felt relaxed.....despite the mask issues, and the obvious concern for my health issue.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
