  • During this call, the provider did help me with what I had. However, not seeing a provider was very difficult. I was very sick. After I left that call, I had to call to make my own covid appointment and my own chest x-ray appointment with very little help or feedback from them as how to do things. Just a number and the covid I had to go on my chart. I just feel at this time when I was as sick as I am, but this was very hard for me. Also, I feel that the phone call was very cold and impersonal. That I did not feel satisfied when I was done. Thank you.

  • Everything went well, I have a great NP who has cared for me for many years. The only complaint is getting through to talk to someone.

They broke the mold when they made her. It's rare that medical professionals have the bedside manner that she has - So kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. I enjoy my visits with her instead of dreading going to the office like I used to with other providers at other offices. Kathy is a true gem.

  • My appointment was at the very end of the day and all office staff had already left. This made it very difficult to call the next day and make another appointment with a different doctor in the same office for a procedure I needed to get done. Impossible to just call the office directly.

However, it's really difficult to get an appointment when you need one that's been my biggest issue with South Health is that it's really hard to get an appointment specially for a physical. It's like months out and then when you do get an appointment, I've had many of them canceled on me and rescheduled for even a later time. So it's really hard to get through on the phone as well. I've been on hold a lot and its just really hard to an appointment. That's my biggest concern but the providers themselves our excellence.

I had been nervous to go to the office because of COVID but my illness made it impossible for me to not go and I was very pleased with all of their safety measures and total process. On the flip side the only kind of negative thing, was that my appointment was scheduled for 10:15 and Kathy Benevides did not come into the room at 11:15. She did say she was sorry for the wait *

  • Kathy did a great job, I really like her. My issue with your organization is the lack of support staff that you have. No matter what office I call at South Coast, I'm on hold for at least 20 minutes. I attempted to make an appointment for lab work yesterday, and I was on hold for awhile finally went to voicemail and then it said the voicemail was full and I couldn't leave a message. I am going to go to Quest for my lab work. However, now I'm having a hard time getting back to Kathy to tell her to send me the order. I understand that these are trying times, but it's very frustrating for patients when they can't get through.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
