About Jason Salter

Dr. Salter earned his medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, after which he completed an internship and residency in family medicine at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. He serves as an assistant professor of community and family medicine at the Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University.

Dr. Salter’s clinical interests include preventive medicine and nutrition, as well as health education.

He is board certified in family medicine.

  • The person in the office and answered the phone. So all the right questions and was very patient with me as I informed her of my situation. She asked me what I would like to talk to to do and then said she would call me back letting me know what was going to be done. She did call me back and when she said she was going to and the doctor infected have a video conference with me as scheduled and everything went well. The doctor asked me to call him within a few days to let him know how I was doing and I called back to let him know that the medicine work that I was feeling much better and the lady in the office was very very diligent taken that message and repeated what I said and added the detail. I got that Dr. Salter has been an A plus Dr. [Name] since I started seeing him in 2012 and I think the world of the way he doctors and I recommend him to all*

He is one of the best PCP's I have had, and have recommended him to other Co-workers looking for a good provider. He does not sugar coat anything. He is up front - with concern.

  • Dr Salter is great. Listens and doesn't rush. The staff accidentally have me wrong call in number for arrival. I was frustrated at not being called in. I phoned the main number which sadly took a bit to be answered. They provided the correct number and once I reached the office they brought me

  • I received the reminder call and was provided the call number when I arrived. I called and waited for 3 minutes to be allowed into the building. The appointment went better then expected and the doctor was happy.

  • I had an appt on the same day I called to request one. The Pcp/Dr. Salter was very helpful, he was able to diagnose me just by telehealth appt. He send a prescription to the pharmacy, that was available to me really quick. After the first dose of medication I felt a lot better and in two days I was pain free. I'm very happy to have a PCp that his very knowledgeable of what's going on with me. I'm very happy with my choice of provider. Thank you

  • The check in process for covid screening was fantastic. Staff was excellent and kind. My PCP has always been forthcoming with suggestions and extremely easy to open up to for any health concerns.

To feel as if your doctor knows who you are and knows all of your issues without any hesitation or having to look deep into your chart is very comforting. Back in June I had a miscarriage and although he is not my OB, he was kind enough to call and check in on me and see how I was doing. To me, that’s someone who truly cares about his patients. I would recommend and do recommend him to anyone I know who is looking for a new primary care provider.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
