About Jason Salter

Dr. Salter earned his medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, after which he completed an internship and residency in family medicine at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. He serves as an assistant professor of community and family medicine at the Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University.

Dr. Salter’s clinical interests include preventive medicine and nutrition, as well as health education.

He is board certified in family medicine.

I was called into the doctor's office as soon as I arrived and filled out a questionnaire. The nurse who checked my vitals was very nice. Her name is [Name] well, [Name] [Name] And Dr. Salter was very informative. I had my healthcare proxy with me and she had plenty of questions that never even entered my mind. And then when I went to schedule another appointment, the young lady who helped me there was very kind and courteous. Overall, I would rate the whole trip on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, I would really give it a 10. You guys were the best.

Dr Salter and the Southcoast Family Health Team are always courteous, knowledgeable sensitive and totally focused on what is best for my healthcare and needs as a chronic disease patient. Managing someone with a chronic illness isn't always easy but they make it seem seamless. I was greeted quickly, all necessary items were handled at check in and I had waited only 5 minutes before a nurse came to greet me and check my stats and vitals. Dr. Salter came in and spent roughly 30 minutes discussing any changes in family health, new flu and Covid shots available, doing my exam, and finally answering my questions.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
