About Gregory Russell

Dr. Russell came to the South Coast region in 1998, the year he completed his cardiology fellowship at Tufts University. He also completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Tufts after graduating from the University of Vermont Medical School.

He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and cardiac rhythm device therapy and specializes in both invasive and non-invasive cardiology.

  • Southcoast Cardiology always does well. I see no need for improvement.

  • My going over my results and telling me what I need to do, and who I need to talk to I think was very well.

  • Provider always listens to patient and patient never feels rush during the scheduled visit.

  • Dr. Russell is very knowledgeable and he's he's a very nice doctor, I'm really lucky to have him. I did not see him personally because it was by phone, so maybe some of my answers were not right.

  • Given the fact that this visit was over the phone due to the STAY AT HOME ORDER (coronavirus), the front desk called me a couple of days prior to my appointment, the lady was very polite and professional, as they always are. Dr Russell called me on my appointment day at exactly my appointment time of 2pm. As usual Dr Russell is friendly, professional and very caring, always like a friend that he's concerned about. He's top notch!!! I'm very blessed to have Dr Russell and his entire team looking out for me. MORE THAN MEDICINE is an understatement. Thank you, God Bless, and stay safe!

  • With so much happening at this time everywhere, this was a call with Doctor Rusell and it was well organized. speaking first to someone who asked questions that we would get if we were in the room before seeing the doctor. Then speaking directly to him. This has been hard on everyone and just wanted to say thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and the entire staff who are all out working to keep us all safe.   • Several of the doctors in the office seems to be running late. It would be great, if there were a white board with the status of each provider's schedule.....e.g., on time, running 20 minutes late, running 30+ minutes late, etc. They have that at the Southcoast Physicians office in Wareham and it's very helpful, as it avoids needing to bother the receptionist to ask about status of my being seen, when there are others also in line, waiting to check-in. The staff and providers are all wonderful!

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
