About David Bae

Dr. Bae earned a Master’s Degree in Neurobiology and a Medical Degree from Brown University Medical School.

He completed a residency in Urology at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence where he also completed a research fellowship in Urology and Men’s Health.

Dr. Bae has specialized training in laparoscopic urological surgery including extensive training with the da Vinci robotic system.

He also has particular interest and, advanced training in the use of lasers in prostate surgery, including the latest Green Light XPS laser system for benign prostate enlargement.

Dr. Bae is board certified in Urology.

  • NOT comfortable w/phone interview...did not receive call for next appointment? (next year)

  • Given the situation going on with the Corona virus this appointment had to be done over the phone and I think the fact that it was done over the phone obviously is not as good as doing it face to face in person, but Dr. Bae still I think did an excellent job considering that it was over the phone. So, not as good as in person given that it was over the phone that's okay because of the circumstances. So next appointment hopefully will be under better circumstances and could be done in person, but I'd I definitely have a lot of faith in Dr. Bae.

  • Yes, I talked to Dr. Bae over the phone because it was a phone actually a phone meeting because of the virus and he was very very helpful and he always is and I have nothing but I praise for him and for his staff.

  • Due to coronavirus, my initial visit was over the phone and not face-to-face. This was unique and hard to quantify. Dr.Bae seemed thorough and pleasant to speak with---it just seemed odd.

  • I was checked in by a very friendly woman. Barely waited 5 minutes and taken in to see Doctor Bae. His nurse was very caring and Doctor Bae came in within 2 minutes. He explained my ultrasound and answered all my questions. I left feeling satisfied with the visit.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
