About David Bae

Dr. Bae earned a Master’s Degree in Neurobiology and a Medical Degree from Brown University Medical School.

He completed a residency in Urology at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence where he also completed a research fellowship in Urology and Men’s Health.

Dr. Bae has specialized training in laparoscopic urological surgery including extensive training with the da Vinci robotic system.

He also has particular interest and, advanced training in the use of lasers in prostate surgery, including the latest Green Light XPS laser system for benign prostate enlargement.

Dr. Bae is board certified in Urology.

  • The person taking me to the exam room could have checked to see what I was there for, so they would have looked like they knew their job. i.e. they asked me to provide a urine sample when I had a foley catheter in.

  • After arriving 15 minutes early as requested for my 9:50 am appointment, I was not seen by the physician until 10:50 am. The wait time was excessive.

This may just be my mistaken impression, and it is not intended to reflect negatively on the excellent care I have been receiving over the years at Southcoast Urology.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Helpfulness of Clerks & Receptionists, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
