About Barbara Soares MD
Barbara Soares, MD, received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Boston University School of Medicine and completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. She is also MSCP certified.
Dr. Soares is licensed to practice in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Massachusetts Medical Society and the North American Menopause Society. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as a NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioner.
Her clinical interests include menopause management, hormone replacement therapy and abnormal pap smears.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her three sons.

Dr. Soares and this office staff are wonderful. From check in, to weigh in and vitals so pleasant. The care I receive from Dr. Soares is thorough, collaborative and ongoing. She is honest, knowledgeable, relatable and empathetic. She takes her time with me and really listens to my concerns. Without her care I don't know how I'd make it through this challenging time in my life. So very grateful she is my doctor!

Originally started seeing Dr. Soares regarding my hot flashes.. she has been an absolute Godsend..She is very patient with all my questions, she takes her time and answers them clearly and often repeats if I'm not clear on something...She is incredible!!

Excellent doctor and great staff
Dr. Soares always knows my history, and in fact goes through it all at each visit to make sure we are on the same page. She also explains my options in a way that I easily understand, so an informed decision can be made. She has never once rushed my appointment at all. Staff at her Wareham office are always pleasant and kind as well.

The Dr could make more time to listen but I understand the time pressure healthcare professionals are under today. I am an occupational therapist. Things are not the same as they used to be

Dr Soares is wonderful
I woke to a hot water heater leak in my home the morning of my appt. I immediately went to My Chart to ask if I could have my appt changed to a Tele-health visit or reschedule ASAP. A short time later I received a call from Dr Soares office from the medical asst. asking the required questions and within seconds I had the link for the call. This helped me out a great deal and I am grateful to Dr Soares and her team for their help in my time of need!!
