About Andrea Pickup-Simonin

Andrea started her education at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She went on to earn her Associate of Science in Nursing at Lawrence Memorial/Regis College Collaborative A.S.N Program in Medford, Massachusetts. She continued her education earning her Masters in Nursing to become a Family Nurse Practitioner at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences University in Worcester, MA. Her clinical interests include, family medicine, primary care, women’s health, working with the pediatric population, and working with the LGBTQA+ community.

Andrea’s personal philosophy of care includes providing evidence-based medical care that is patient focused, inclusive, preventative and accounts for one’s physical, emotional, spiritual, social and cultural well-being. Family Medicine appeals to her because of the opportunity to build long-term relationships and make a difference in one’s wellbeing throughout an individual’s lifespan.

When not at work, Andrea enjoys the outdoors, meditation, yoga, traveling, and seeking new adventures with family and friends.

  • The provider was knowledgeable and caring. Offered advice to improve my overall heath. I Enjoyed the visit.

She took the time to listen, consulted with his primary doctor and called the following day to check on him and got him a same day appointment when she learned he was not feeling better. Being a parent with a sick child can be scary and overwhelming, but having a provider and care team (from MR, to nurse to provider )show such care and take such time can restore faith not only in healthcare but in the goodness of people. I cannot speak more highly of this provider of the north Dartmouth family medicine practice

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
