About Stephen Finney, MD
Dr. Stephen Finney is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences then subsequently obtained a Master in Science at Mississippi College. Dr. Finney earned his Doctor of Medicine at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. Following medical school, he completed his residency in Family Medicine at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he served as Wellness Director. He is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, American Board of Obesity Medicine, and the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine.
Dr. Finney implements more of a holistic approach when treating all his patients. He promotes lifestyle modification that focuses on foods, exercise, and mindfulness through meditation technique. In addition, he practices motivational interviewing and listens to his patients in an efficient manner. Dr. Finney believes that health and happiness is achieved through realistic goal setting. His clinical interests include family medicine, obesity medicine, and LGBTQ health.
He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Lifestyle Medicine, Massachusetts Academy of Family Physicians, Obesity Medical Association, and World Professional Association for Transgender Health.

Time efficiency.
This was my first visit with Dr Finney and I was impressed. He was very kind, attentive and easy to talk to. He took the time to listen to my concerns and I didn't feel rushed like most of the dr's I've been to. I am hard of hearing and he was very patient and spoke loud and clear. I am very happy with the service he provided.
Dr. Finney is a Dream Come True! He is the best Doctor I have ever had I was blown away by how very comfortable I felt in his exam room and he listens and keeps eye contact and is just so engaging about every question I had for him. He gave me a great exam and I am THANKFUL to have him as not only my Doctor but my Husbands Doctor as well because we are in GOOD HANDS :) :) It's Dr. Finney for us or bust!!
Dr Finney has been my PCP for a year. All of his staff are awesome , friendly, kind, and always willing to help. They are promot and make me feel like I matter. The check out staff is quick , and efficient. I can not sing enough praises for this group .

I was 10 minutes early to my appointment. I was still seeing before my scheduled time.
This appointment was to find a new PCP and I most certainly did. I was very impressed and regained hope for my immediate and future health as I have been putting in atrinomical effort, spinning my wheels and felt unsupported with my prior PCP who I had been with for many many years.
Dr. Finney consistently provides excellent care. He listens to all concerns with compassion and addresses problems with immediate solutions. I am so grateful to have him as my primary care physician.

Dr. Finney was excellent! He was kind, professional and easy to talk with. He meets a very unique need for this community, and that's appreciated more than most know. His staff was welcoming, friendly and I was most impressed with them welcoming me into their practice and thanking me when I left. There's something special going on here for sure. Not to sound cliche but it's definitely more than medicine.
Dr.finney seems to care about his patients
I was supposed to have a 3 month follow up but I was scheduled for a 5 month appointment. When I questioned it the person said he was very busy with T will be ok. I don't think it is right. If the doctor wants a 3 month follow the person that makes the appointment should not be able to change it without speaking to the doctor which she did not
All staff members I interacted with were excellent. Dr. Finney was attentive, personable, and he has an enthusiastic attitude that cannot be faked. I can tell he cares about what he is doing.

Dr Finney is one of the best doctors I've ever had - he carefully listens, is genuinely concerned and always pleasant. He's both knowledgeable and takes a somewhat holistic approach to good health - always concerned and recommending good health habits (i.e., exercise, healthy eating and rest) for a complete healthy lifestyle rather than trying to "push" the latest pharmaceutical drug....very refreshing in this day and age. Please hold onto him.

I was very impressed with Dr.Finney.He answered all my qeestions and was thoghtful and curteous. I couldnt be happier with my new PCP!As a senior citizen its nice to find someone who doesnt blame everything on age.. I found him very concerned and informative. Kudos to Dr. Finney!
