About Michael Simon MD
Dr. Michael Simon earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the George Washington University Columbian College of Arts and Sciences in Washington, DC. He then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University, School of Medicine. He then earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at The George Washington University Hospital and his Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine Fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital.
Having always been interested in sciences, he was inspired to become a doctor after he got to see firsthand the connection a physician makes with a patient; the perfect alignment of scientific curiosity and service to others.
His philosophy of care centers on empathy, patience, and clear communication. He wants his patients to know they are more than a diagnosis or culmination of lab values or chest radiographs.
When not at work, Michael is an avid reader of science fiction. He loves gardening, landscaping, and DIY home improvement projects. He’s also known for bringing along a few board games on his weekend cabin escapes with friends.

From the front desk receptionist to the receptionist at check out, the medical assistant and of course Dr Simon EVERYONE was friendly, respectful and professional. Doctor Simon is an absolute medical phenomenon. I'm 92 years old, I've had much much experience with physicians in my life. He's top, he's among the top one or two that I've ever encountered in my life, the man is so capable, friendly, courteous, It's like, it's almost unbelievable how good he is. The guy is just absolutely great.
Honestly, there wasn't a thing you could have done better! It was a 100% positive experience. Dr. Simon is a fantastic doctor. He enlightened me on different factors that could be connected to the situation with my lungs. He also asked me many questions and explained why. I left his office feeling relaxed and comfortable with the next steps.
