About Christopher Skeehan, MD
Dr. Christopher Skeehan graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Genetics from the University of Rochester. He then earned his Doctorate of Medicine from New York Medical College. Furthering his medical expertise, Dr. Skeehan completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth prior to his Naval service as a staff Orthopedic Surgeon. Most recently, Dr. Skeehan completed a fellowship in adult reconstruction at New York University Langone Orthopedic Hospital and Insall Scott Kelly Institute. His clinical interests are in both primary and revision hip and knee reconstruction and hip and knee sports medicine.
Dr. Skeehan was inspired to become a physician by his parents, both of whom are physicians. He chose orthopedic surgery after his personal experience with orthopedic surgeons who provided care when he injured himself as a hammer thrower in college. Dr. Skeehan’s personal philosophy of care is centered around cherishing his patients, tracking their outcomes, and always striving to be better for them. He collaborates with his patients, listening to what their goals of care are, while offering different treatment options that will help them achieve their goals with as little intervention as possible.
When not at work, Dr. Skeehan enjoys hiking, snowboarding, surfing, rock climbing, and spending time with his family. Dr. Skeehan is a former member of the United States Navy.

Absolutely my favorite orthopedic doctor ever , always takes his time to listen and explain all options ! Never pushed surgery which iam grateful ! Not to say it's not in my future but has given me alternatives which are greatly appreciated! I refer Him to everyone , also his cortisone injections are painless.

Dr Skeehan is fantastic. What I didn't appreciate was the wait for a 8:15 appointment. Was not called back until 9. Being behind that early in the morning is poor planning. The girl that brought me back wasn't pleasant. "We have 6 providers on." She snapped. Which I totally get. I work for southcoast surgery faunce corner . Again Dr Skeehan is fantastic. Girls at front desk too.

There needs to be an elevator available at all times! Having only one that is out of service is not acceptable! Having knee problems/surgery, hip problems/surgery, COPD etc. does not work well with having you walk up two flights of stairs. Patients' should have been called to see if they wanted to reschedule their appointments due to the lack of accessibility to the office!
Would've improved my experience if you had an elevator that was working. Orthopedics on fifth floor not easy to navigate stairs with 2 bad knees.
I have no complaints about the doctor or staff. The building's elevator being out of order to be serviced is ridiculous. The landlord should not be scheduling maintenance of the only elevator during business hours. I am being seen for a hamstring injury so having to climb over 40 stairs aggravated my injury..

Provider was excellent but scheduling a surgery date was ridiculous booking out 8 months ahead been in pain for 3 months already

Overall visit - staff and doctor very positive. Only complaint was initial appointment with MD scheduled with 2-1/2 month await for that one and then that appointment was cancelled 2 days before in order for MD to attend a meeting. I had to await another month plus for new appointment.

This is my first time seeing Dr. Skeehan. He seemed very good doctor. I had my knee done before, but he's supposed to replace my knee. And he knew everything that I went through and what I'm going to experience, and he spoke to me about the robotics and stuff like that. And I think everybody that I met in the facility, from the girl that greets you to the x-ray girls and the girl that brought me to the room, everybody seemed very professional. So I can't wait to get this done. Thank you very much.
