About Brett Hurteau DO
Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Hurteau is a graduate of the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.
He completed his residency in family medicine at the Brown University Family Medicine Residency Program at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital, where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Hurteau is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Osteopathic Association, and the Massachusetts Medical Society.
He is a clinical assistant professor of Family Medicine at Brown University and is on the community faculty — Brown Family Practice Residency program.
Dr. Hurteau is a long-time resident of New Bedford.

Dr Hurteau is truly exceptional! He cares, listens, and always asks his colleagues in specialty departments for insight if he is unsure about a specific issue which I find to be so impressive! His bedside manner is unmatched!

Dr Hurteau and his staff have always been professional, knowledgeable, and caring.
Dr Hurteau wanted to get to the root of my pain and swelling and ordered a full blood panel. My pain is subsiding but tests are still being run after being on Prednisone. He didn't dismiss me and it was a good feeling.
Appointment was scheduled for same day. No waiting. Dr. Hurteau is always reassuring and efficient. Needed prescriptions were provided quickly.
