About Joseph Lifrak, MD
Dr. Lifrak graduated cum laude with departmental honors in biology from Tulane University in New Orleans. He then earned his medical degree at the Brown University School of Medicine in Providence.
Dr. Lifrak completed a surgical internship and orthopedic residency at Brown University, Rhode Island Hospital. He then completed an orthopedic trauma fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital and a knee reconstruction/sports medicine fellowship at the Jewett Orthopedic Clinic in Winter Park, Fla.
He is a member and past president of the Rhode Island Orthopedic Society. His clinical interests are focused on sports medicine and knee reconstruction, including total knee replacements, ACL surgery and knee arthroscopy.
Dr. Lifrak is also active in the Providence College athletic programs, with specific responsibility as the team orthopedic physician for Providence Friars Ice Hockey team.

Knowledgeable and prompt
From the receptionist to the physician, I was treated with respect. Dr Lifrak's procedure is always done without discomfort. I was seen on time and follow up appointment was at my convenience
It was my first visit. Staff very friendly and helpful. Doctor very personable and helpful. Directed me to another southcoast doctor who could correct my problem.
The doctor saw me in a timely manner. After he saw me he went out to get paperwork that describes pre surgery excersises and paperwork pretaining to strenthening my leg as well as my whole body helping to make me fit for knee replacement.He showed me a knee model and explained the difference between a partial ( which I have in my right knee) and a full replacement that I'm being scheduled for.This was the first time I'd seen such a model, and told what I was looking at.
My experience was such a good one from beginning to end. The receptionist was friendly and efficient, the xray tech was patient with me a senior citizen.Doctor Lifrak explained everything in a manner I understood about my concerns. The entire appointment was completed in a very timely manner because of their professionalism.

Dr. Lifrak is top notch. You can barely see my scar from my knee replacement.

Options are always given by Dr Lifrak. He never tells what I should do, he gives me options. Previously operated on my right and left meniscus. Dr. listens!

Dr Joseph Lifrak, Has always been a caring Doctor. I followed him from Cumberland RI. I live in Uxbridge Just to have his skill. I know I feel safe in his answers of my care. I don't think there was anything that could have been done to improve my experience with Dr. Lifrak's office. The front window staff were outstanding. The nurses, the techs, the x-ray tech were absolutely outstanding. And Dr. Lifrak himself gave me every confidence in the world that he could fix my problem and it was just an all-around excellent experience. I actually made an appointment two days later with another provider and canceled it after my visit with Dr. Lifrak. So to me that says millions. Thank you and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

I left the Dr. Lifrak's office with a shot of cortisone for my immediate discomfort, a plan to go for PT, a follow-up in March, and a progression of steps that I may need to follow in the future. That is exactly what I was looking for. I was very pleased with my appointment. Thank you.

The long wait to have the surgery was disappointing. Dr. Lifrak and his team were terrific throughout the process. I look forward to a return to normal very soon thanks to my care team.
Dr Lifrak did my left knee, total replacement in 2020. It is perfect. I have recommended many of my friends to Dr. Lifrak and they are equally pleased. I will be scheduling total knee replacement in my right knee in the near future and I am fully confident with Dr. Lifrak that it will be a success.

Dr Lifrak is the best and the appointment is on time and is a very efficient process. He takes time to explain things and is the best orthopedic physician in my book.
This was my first visit with Dr. Lifrak, but I could tell that he had made himself familiar with my medical/surgical history. He was honest with me about what I may have to go through and got the ball rolling in respect to what may be required.
