Newsweek 2025 -America's Leading Doctors

For the second consecutive year, Richard Pin, MD, Chief of Vascular Surgery at Southcoast Health, has been recognized on Newsweek’s List of America’s Best Doctors in the Vascular Surgery category. Among a total of 200 vascular surgeons recognized across the United States, Dr. Pin is one of only seven physicians in Massachusetts to receive this honor.

“To be recognized among the finest vascular surgeons in the country is a great honor. This accolade would not have been possible without the hard work of my talented and compassionate team,” said Dr. Pin. “Our philosophy is to deliver the highest quality vascular care, one individual patient at a time. I am privileged to lead the vascular surgery division at Southcoast and deliver this exceptional care to our community and region.”

Dr. Pin received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, where he graduated first in his class. He completed his general surgery residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston followed by a fellowship in vascular surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

“Dr. Pin is an exceptional provider and very deserving of this recognition,” said Peter Cohn, MD, Chief of Southcoast Health Heart & Vascular. “Under his leadership, our Vascular Surgery program has thrived. We are proud that patients across southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island can now easily access the most advanced cardiovascular care available today.”
