O Tobey Hospital da Southcoast Health é reconhecido pela excelência clínica em cirurgia robótica

Southcoast Health’s Tobey Hospital in Wareham recently achieved accreditation from the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery.

Tobey is now the second Southcoast Health hospital to earn this recognition, exemplifying the community health system’s commitment to high-quality patient care and safety. Status as an accredited SRC Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery means that the program has met nationally and internationally recognized standards of excellence in patient care.  

“The field of robotic surgery is continually advancing and the ability to exceed clinical benchmarks and guidelines bringing the latest innovation to our patients requires a full team effort,” said Dennis La Rock, MD, Executive Vice President and Chief Physician Officer at Southcoast Health. “With this additional recognition, we are proud to celebrate the high-quality care we provide across the South Coast region from Rhode Island to Cape Cod.”

1. Uma acreditação SRC ajuda os doentes a identificar os prestadores de serviços que cumpriram normas rigorosas de prestação de cuidados perioperatórios e de acompanhamento a longo prazo de elevada qualidade e a distingui-los dos que não o fizeram.

As instalações de cuidados de saúde e os cirurgiões que procuram obter uma acreditação SRC são submetidos a um processo de avaliação e inspeção exaustivo para garantir que o candidato cumpre os padrões e requisitos comprovados da SRC. Estes requisitos incluem volumes cirúrgicos, equipamento das instalações, vias clínicas e procedimentos operacionais padronizados, juntamente com uma ênfase na educação do paciente e na avaliação contínua da qualidade. Os inspectores ensinam ao pessoal dos departamentos acreditados as melhores práticas para ajudar uma organização a melhorar os seus cuidados e serviços.

In addition to this recognition, 10 Southcoast Health Physicians have achieved accreditation from the SRC as a Surgeon of Excellence in Robotic Surgery.

Robotic surgery is minimally invasive and allows the surgical team to make smaller cuts, with more precision during a procedure. This results in benefits for patients such as less bleeding, smaller scar areas, conservation of bone and healthy tissue and shorter recovery times depending on the individual.
