About Victoria Bruegel MD
Dr. Bruegel is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in the care and treatment of the hand, wrist and elbow. She received her medical degree with Honors from Yale University School of Medicine. She completed her surgical internship and orthopedic Surgery Residency at Yale. She then completed her fellowship in hand and upper extremity, microvascular and congenital hand surgery at Harvard Combined Hand and Upper Extremity Surgical Fellowship.
She graduated summa cum laude and received her undergraduate and Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy with distinction at Boston University’s Sargent College in 1994. She worked as a physical therapist for five years prior to returning to medical school to become an orthopedic surgeon. Her background in physical therapy helps to provide those under her care with realistic post-operative goals and expectations.
Dr. Bruegel’s areas of expertise include repair of complex fractures of the hand, wrist and elbow, peripheral nerve repair, tendon repair, arthritis care, wrist and elbow arthroscopy, wrist instability, microvascular surgery, and pediatric hand care. She also cares for common conditions of the hand such as carpal tunnel, trigger finger, Dupuytren’s contracture.
Dr. Bruegel is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. She has a Certificate of Added Qualification for Surgery of the Hand (CAQH).
Dr. Bruegel is recognized as one of America’s Top Orthopedists 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017. She has also been selected as a Top Surgeon by the International Association of Healthcare Professionals in 2018.

Dr.Bruegal is simply outstanding!
Dr. Bruegel is second to none when it comes to physicians. Her communication skills far exceed most physicians especially when it comes to explaining your medical condition and the options available. Her expression of empathy regarding your diagnosis puts you at ease throughout the appointment.
The wait is a little long but dr.brugel is worth it. I feel she really cares about my conditions and is always giving me the best way to tackle my hands and very direct and I like that about her. She's the best in my eyes
Upon arriving greeted promptly Seen promptly and all individuals that interacted with me did so in a professional manner. The Dr. listened to me first then diagnosed my particular situation. Addressed my problem and gave me instructions for follow up with her.Very refreshing appointment.
Dr. Bruegel was friendly and caring. She had reviewed my chart ahead of time and listened to my concerns. She was informative and straight forward. She was running late but did apologize right away. Staff were friendly and courteous.
Dr. Bruegel did an extensive physical exam. She took the time to go over the X-rays that were taken at the office and pulled up previous pertinent X-rays. She made sure that she answered all of my questions.

Dr Bruegel is the best! You can tell she really wants to connect with her patients and takes the time to truly listen to you…and took time to thoroughly explain the medical information and treatment for my trigger finger issue. Southcoast is lucky to have her working for them.
She came in and introduced herself. She asked appropriate questions. Examined me and told me what was going on. She gave me options and when I had questions she listened and gave me pros and cons to what I was considering.staff was on point with following what she said.

I would like to say that Dr. Brugel was very patient and explained the surgical procedure that we were talking about very well and made it simple. She did her best to get the surgery scheduled in a timely manner. The other thing was Alyssa, who was the young woman who scheduled the surgery date, was very efficient and very courteous and very caring.

A great visit and explanation of my issues. Well prepared. A recommendation, for myself would be a written review of the different issues and possible remedies. Trying to remember can be challenging when reviewing later. Just a suggestion was still pleased with the review of my situation.

She is amazing, she listens and she creates a plan and she follows up and is genuinely concerned and wants you to feel better.
Dr Bruegal always takes her time to listen to me as I'm sure she does that with all of her patients but with that being said, it also backs her up and makes her run late for appts so maybe they shouldn't book them so close together so this doesn't happen. You always have to plan to be there for a minimum of 1 1/2 hours.

Dr. Bruegel is knowledgeable, listens and clear in her communication. She's also friendly and compassionate! The office staff were pleasant and hard working. It's a busy office so you do need to wait, but the care received is worth the wait!
Dr. Bruegel repaired my hand and wrist when I broke them in 2018 and I have had no issues. When I explained the current symptoms in my other hand, she instantly knew the issue. I would recommend her 1000x over.

Wait time was excessive but the doctor was very professional and courteous
My only complaint, and it is a mild one, was the slight delay I had in getting called in, then after the PA's initial intake before the doctor came in. Good thing I brought a book, or I'd have twiddled my thumbs raw! FYI, I was in the waiting room 15 minutes past my appointment time (for which I was 10 minutes early), then I'd say the delay between the PA and doc was 10 more minutes.

This was my first visit and although the staff was nice, my appointment was for 3 pm and I did not get seen until 4:15 pm.
The care was excellent and the exam was thorough. I never felt rushed. The staff were all pleasant. All in all, a wonderful experience!

I was taken promptly and explained in detail what was wrong with my wrists.
Appointment was a few minutes late but it was late afternoon, so it was fine. Dr Bruegel explained everything including showing me X-rays. We discussed the pros and cons of each option and jointly agreed on the best one for me. She has a wonderful bedside manner, is a great listener and asks questions if she needs / wants more information. She's great!

The front desk always is welcoming and kind. I don't really know her name but she's a blonde lady at the front desk that checks me in. Dr. Bruegel always takes her time with me and explains everything and she listens to any other issues that I might have medically and she's just awesome. I would recommend her to anyone.
This was my 1st time visiting with Dr Bruegel. She was pleasant, respectful and enthusiastic. Dr B had lots of experience and information and explained my condition (trigger finger) very clearly. She wAs comforting when administering the needle. I really was impressed and formed a trusted bond with Dr B on the first visit. Job well done!

I think the doctor was simply amazing. I think the wait time was way too long. It was about 35, 40 minutes. That's my only concerns.

They could improve the service time. I waited an hour and a half after my appointment time. The appointment was at 10:15, and they saw me at 11:20, so you can improve that part.

She was great. Spent a lot of time, had more X-rays done to be thorough. Follow up appointment schedule, she was running a few minutes late but well worth the wait. Since I'm already going to PT for my shoulder some stuff was referred back to them. Very considerate, great communicator.

75 mins from appt time to meeting with provider is not okay. Staff should also apologize for the extended wait time, which was not the case. Furthermore, if I arrived 75 mins late to my appt then I would have to pay a penalty and reschedule.
