About Michael Harrison MD
Dr. Harrison graduated from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, where he also completed his residency in neurosurgery. He subsequently joined the faculty at the University of Arkansas, where he finished subspecialty training with a fellowship in skull base surgery.
Dr. Harrison served as a staff neurosurgeon and chief of Neurosurgery at the David Grant U.S. Air Force Medical Center in California, as a staff neurosurgeon at the Southwest Washington Medical Center and most recently at Rhode Island Hospital.
He has extensive experience and expertise in a range of neurosurgery including spine surgery and complex brain surgery.
Dr. Harrison brings special expertise in skull base surgery, which involves procedures in some of the most complex areas of the brain where it exits the skull to the spine. Here, the blood supply to the brain enters the skull and the cranial nerves exit. Previously, patients have had to travel outside of the region for this highly complex surgery, which may be used to treat brain tumors and other conditions. Dr. Harrison has conducted research and published widely on topics concerning skull base surgery, including treatment for meningioma, usually benign brain tumors that often are located at the base of the skull. He has also conducted research and published widely on surgical treatment for a range of cervical and spine problems.
Dr. Harrison is board certified in neurological surgery.

Dr Harrison did a hands on approach to find out where my pain was. He excused himself when he dictated to the computer. He was thorough and was able give me information and to answer my questions.
The doctor was exceptional in all aspects of care and the appointment.
Dr Harrison saw me first thing (8:00 am) and appeared very thorough in his examination of me and the pain area that troubles me. He asked very pointed questions and after each he immediately dictated the results into his PC system. He was direct with the options of treatment for me. Also, he very well explained the visual MRI results.
I thought he was rude I asked him a question and he told me I interrupted him twice he talked more into his remote controller that narrated to his computer than he talked to me and then when he did talk to me he was very rude I was afraid at one point to even say anything to him I left there in tears
I will give 10 stars for being on time, other than that this doctor wasn't the doctor I would of asked for, just not the right fit for me.

It is my second visit with DR. Harrison, his approach to my problem has been first rate. My only problem has been with Workers Comp Insurance. I have had surgery with DR. Harrison before and he is a first rate neurosurgeon, and gentlemen.
Very through but I do feel a little rushed, having said that I usually get in what I feel is important.
