About Melanie Chitas, WHNP
Melanie Chitas graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and was the project chairperson for the Mass Student Nurses Association. She then went on to further her medical expertise, graduating with honors with her Master of Science degree in Nursing from Regis College. Melanie is NCC board certified in women’s health as a Nurse Practitioner. She is MSCP certified.
Melanie’s clinical interests lie within preventative women’s health care, fertility treatments and menopausal treatments. She started her career as a nurse at Charlton Memorial Hospital before transitioning to an office nurse in the OB/GYN setting before advancing to become a women’s health nurse practitioner.
Her philosophy of care it to provide personalized care by acknowledging and listening to each patient’s individual situation, to provide compassionate care and to educate her patients and their families so that the decision making can be shared.
When not at work, Melanie enjoys camping and riding ATVs with her family.

The wait time was a bit much. I waited like 45 minutes past my appointment time to be seen. Otherwise the provider was respectful, kind and answered all my questions.

Melanie listened to my health concerns, answered all of my questions, and discussed my options for care with me, taking my preferences and concerns seriously, and making sure I had all the information I needed. She explained everything she did during my exam and biopsy, and was very gentle and mindful of my comfort during the procedure. She was attentive and thorough in providing my care. I would highly recommend her.

Melanie Chitas was hands down the best OBGYN provider I have ever seen. She was thorough and made appropriate referrals without me having to advocate for myself. She truly listened to me and developed an appropriate plan of care to address the issues I came to the office with. I did not feel rushed what so ever. I felt truly grateful that she took the time to listen to my concerns, provide referrals, run diagnostic tests/imaging/bloodwork, and discuss my plan of care with me. I've never felt more comfortable going to an OB before and this was my first time ever seeing Melanie . I would recommend her to anyone she makes you feel comfortable, she is professional and understanding and will answer any questions without rushing you!

I had a very nice experience from start to finish. There was parking nearby. It was easy to see the provider. The nurse and provider took time to ask me relevant questions about my health and explain things to me. I was provided treatment options. I especially appreciated being given information about where to find reputable information online. Plus I am impressed that the provider has a Menopause Society Certification. It lets me know that she has up to date information about my health.
Your support staff from the receptionist that checked me in to the medical assistant who took my vitals are all amazing! Friendly, personable and showed sincere care and concern.
