About Marcelo Montorzi, MD
Dr. Marcelo Montorzi earned his medical degree from Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in the Province of Mendoza, Argentina. He completed his post-doctorate research fellowship in Biochemistry and Biophysics at Harvard Medical School Center for Biochemical and Biophysical Sciences in Boston, MA. Subsequently, he completed his internship and residency program in Internal Medicine at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA and his clinical fellowship in Internal Medicine at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.
Dr. Montorzi’s clinical interest is in general clinical medicine. He developed a progressive interest in medicine from interaction with his parents, both medical doctors that trained in Sweden. During medical school he developed an interest in all fields of human biology, biochemistry, biophysics. His interest in general medicine crystalized after graduation during his work as a post-doctoral fellow in biochemistry and biophysics.
Dr. Montorzi’s personal philosophy of care is rooted in honoring the trust that he receives from his patients, practicing his profession with conscience and dignity. It is of upmost importance to make his patients’ health be his first consideration, not allowing any discrimination to affect his duty to his patients, and upholding an utmost respect for human life while protecting the privacy of his patients and the secrets confided in him.
Outside of work, Dr. Montorzi enjoys arts, nature, geology, general science, and artificial intelligence. He has done multiple climbs throughout the Central Andes where he also was a mountain guide.

I can't get over the level of attention that I get whenever I visit Dr. Montorzi. I told him he's the first doctor I've ever seen that didn't seem rushed. I couldn't be happier with our decision to switch our PCP. We lucked out!
I never have a complaint now that I am a patient at South Coast. My doctor is amazing. The facilities are fantastic and I am just so happy that I was finally able to make it back to South Coast after switching to Hawthorn Medical for a few years that was the biggest mistake I ever made.I just wish there were more doctors available at South Coast that were taking new patients because my long-term goal is to get my son there so that my whole family is there I just have to add one unrelated experience. My son was sick for a year back-and-forth back-and-forth doctor urgent care, doctor urgent care. I was so fed up that I brought him to South Coast walk-in in Fairhaven within five minutes they told us we needed to go to the hospital he was seen by a doctor in three weeks later had surgery thank you South Coast. You're the best.

Dr. Montorzi went out of his way to get in touch with me regarding my daughter's health issue. He wasn't in the office today but called me anyway.
Dr. Montorzi is a wonderful doctor and person. He genuinely cares about my health and listens to what I have to say. I feel that he cares about me as a person not just a patient. He makes me feel that we are a team in regards to my health care. I am 70 years old and he is the most thorough doctor I have ever had. I have recommended him to many family members and friends.

I would have liked a little bit more information about my condition and I would wanted a little bit more time about what I could do, what I could eat, what I could change with what's going on even though he was waiting for my labs to come back. Other than him telling me get more sleep, I didn't get enough from the doctor which I thought I was because I was very nervous about what was going on and how I was feeling. Especially with my blood pressure, my weight, I would have liked a little bit more comment from the doctor.
Dr. Montorzi was recommended to me and by far it was a fantastic recommendation. Dr. Montorzi was prompt and really listened to me. He explained everything so that I understood the tests he was requesting. I didn't feel rushed during the appointment and felt like Dr. Montorzi went above and beyond to address my concerns. I know this will sound cliche but I wish I had found Dr. Montorzi years ago.
the entire experience was fantastic! i arrived early, and was seen within one minute. Dr. Montorzi is by far the most knowledgeable and compassionate doctor i've even experienced. i trust him fully. getting blood taken immediately after my appointment was seamless, and i received the results on My Chart that night. i can't say enough about the patient care by Dr. Montorzi and the staff at Southcoast Health!
