About Lesly Wood, DNP
Lesly Wood, DNP, earned her Bachelor of Arts from Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island. She then went on to obtain her Associate in Science in Nursing from Bristol Community College in Fall River, Massachusetts before advancing her clinical education, earning her Doctor of Nursing Practice from UMass Dartmouth.
She enjoys vascular surgery because it is a field that blends medical and surgical care. She is drawn to its demands for precision, critical thinking, and collaboration.
In her practice, Lesly’s patient-centered approach emphasizes clinical excellence, empathy, and individualized, evidence-based treatment, addressing the full spectrum of physical, emotional, mental, and social needs. She finds deep purpose in helping her patients regain mobility and independence through life-altering challenges. Lesly develops collaborative relationships with patients, families, and various healthcare teams to ensure high-quality care.
Southcoast Health holds personal and professional significance for her. Her father served as a primary care physician within the system, and her grandmother was previously employed as a medical assistant. Being a part of the organization represents a continuation of her family’s legacy in community-based care.
When not caring for patients, Lesly enjoys spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews, as well as her pets. She loves international travel and cultural exploration. She has participated in multiple international medical missions to Tanzania, Honduras, and Haiti.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.
Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.
How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
