Understand Your Health with a Physical Exam in Fall River, New Bedford or Wareham, MA
At Southcoast Health, we want our patients to have quality, full lives, no matter your age or medical condition. As part of our primary care services, we offer physical exams in southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island to check your overall wellness. Physicals also are an effective way to prevent illness or chronic conditions.
Our expert primary care physicians recommend getting a physical exam every year. That way, we can monitor your health and offer health screenings if we see any early signs of illnesses. Also, having a relationship with your family doctor will allow them to provide their best care, and help you feel more comfortable discussing your health.
What to Expect from Your Annual Exam at Southcoast Health
During a physical exam, your primary care physician will ask you questions about your medical history with topics like your smoking and drinking habits, sexual health, diet and exercise.
Physicals usually also include checking:
- Vital signs, including heart rate, temperature, blood pressure and respiration rate
- Heart exam
- Lung exam
- General appearance
- Neurological exam
- Male and female physical exams
- Current conditions like diabetes or obesity
If you need a follow-up visit for any concerns our doctors see, our medical receptionist can help set a up time that works for you. We can also refer you to a specialist, if needed.
Please bring all your prescriptions in their original containers and any forms we’ve sent you to the exam. In addition, please talk to your insurance provider before your exam, as not all providers cover physicals.
