About Douglas Garland, PA-C
Douglas Garland, PA-C, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Amherst, MA. He developed his expertise in the medical field when he completed a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. He has nearly 30 years of experience as a physician assistant, specializing in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.
Douglas’s personal philosophy of care is to treat all of his patients as he would wish to be treated. By paying close attention to his patients’ medical history and needs, he cares for them efficiently and effectively. Douglas makes sure to focus his care on the whole person with empathy and compassion.
Douglas’s commitment to community has always been evident. Before his time as a physician’s assistant, he served in the Peace Corps on an outer island in Fiji. He also volunteers annually at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, a camp for children with major medical issues.
Outside of work, Douglas enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis and ice hockey, sailing, fishing and playing the guitar.

The office seems to run on time which I really appreciate as I don't have to sit and wait past my appointment time. Everyone I have had contact with from check in to check out has been pleasant and respectful.
Doug Garland was very kind, professional and knowledgeable. He reviewed my xray with me. Clearly gave me my instructions and restrictions. Explained everything he was thinking and what I could expect. No complaints at all.

Taking and showing me updated X-rays after a major procedure and explaining what I was looking at was very helpful. My entire experience with Dr. Bruegel and her staff was amazing!
Explained everything to me with every detail that I can understand what words mean, what I love about that place & the drs there is that they are patient & doesn't rush, excellent drs, staffs, & all around very clean, well kept/ organize place and atmosphere & would recommend that place & drs to everyone
This was my first experience with Orthopedics. I found Dr. Garland very informative, gentle and patient.

He is good, but the other girl that was with me before I like her better she knew more about what was going on with me. I don't know if it was because he never had me before and she already knew what was going on.
It seems like they fall behind on appointment times I waited 45 minutes past my appointment time today and it seems like more people are going in before me than usual although I don't know who they were saying, but it felt like a long wait today. Although in their defense, they did apologize, but it just seemed like a long wait
Douglas explained everything in full detail. He gave me the choice of two options and left it up to me to decide. He was professional, yet personable. Would definitely recommend

They're very nice and actually took me in on time. Usually when I have Dr appointments I'm on time and they're late. These people were on time and very efficient.
