About Barbara Soares, MD
Barbara Soares, MD, received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Boston University School of Medicine and completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. She is also MSCP certified.
Dr. Soares is licensed to practice in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Massachusetts Medical Society and the North American Menopause Society. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as a NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioner.
Her clinical interests include menopause management, hormone replacement therapy and abnormal pap smears.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her three sons.

This was my first visit with Barbara Soares, NP. It was an excellent appointment. She took the time to carefully review not only my GYN history but my whole health profile. She offered me some great input and education about a medication I've been taking, including how to administer it. She answered my questions with patience. A wonderful provider!!

Most Dr's are not good at providing the education piece regarding a patient's diagnosis/issue but Dr Soares does a great job effectively communicating information to her patients. Easy to discuss health concerns with provider
My first experience at this facility but very glad to be back in the Southcoast network, I have left Hawthorne. Dr. Soares is extremely professional, kind, and both an excellent listener and explainer of health care issues and options. First Doctor in a very long time that I am glad to have for my care. The facility is accessible and the support staff were kind and very friendly. Very professional overall experience. Thank you.

Dr. Soares always comes into my visit prepared. She reviews my file as well as my previous visit with my primary care provider. She reviews my issues with me and makes recommendations based off on my concerns and goals. I always feel heard and my input is always taken into consideration for treatment.
First time meeting her she was very nice very polite. Explained everything to me. I was very pleased with her visit.
Dr. Soares was very informative, gave various options, provided a packet of information and listened to all my concerns.
Every time I go to the OBGYN location in Werham, I find it to be extremely proficient. Everyone is so courteous and I absolutely love my doctor, Dr. Soares. I think she's phenomenal. She is so clear at explaining things in detail. She actually sits and takes so much time with me and I always feel grateful to have her as my doctor when I leave.
