Southcoast Health is Recognized on Newsweek’s list of the World’s Best Hospitals for the Eighth Consecutive Year

We are proud to announce that for the eighth year in a row, Southcoast Health was named to Newsweek’s list of the World’s Best Hospitals! On the 2026 list, the community health system also received special recognition for performing “above average” in CMS infection prevention measures for the third time since 2019. 

This year, more than 2,500 hospitals from over 30 countries were evaluated, with 420 hospitals from the United States earning a spot on the list.

Overall, 16 hospitals from Massachusetts and Rhode Island received this distinction, and Southcoast Hospitals Group was one of 13 hospitals in the region recognized for excellence in infection prevention.
