About Victoria Bruegel, MD
Dr. Bruegel is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in the care and treatment of the hand, wrist and elbow. She received her medical degree with Honors from Yale University School of Medicine. She completed her surgical internship and orthopedic Surgery Residency at Yale. She then completed her fellowship in hand and upper extremity, microvascular and congenital hand surgery at Harvard Combined Hand and Upper Extremity Surgical Fellowship.
She graduated summa cum laude and received her undergraduate and Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy with distinction at Boston University’s Sargent College in 1994. She worked as a physical therapist for five years prior to returning to medical school to become an orthopedic surgeon. Her background in physical therapy helps to provide those under her care with realistic post-operative goals and expectations.
Dr. Bruegel’s areas of expertise include repair of complex fractures of the hand, wrist and elbow, peripheral nerve repair, tendon repair, arthritis care, wrist and elbow arthroscopy, wrist instability, microvascular surgery, and pediatric hand care. She also cares for common conditions of the hand such as carpal tunnel, trigger finger, Dupuytren’s contracture.
Dr. Bruegel is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. She has a Certificate of Added Qualification for Surgery of the Hand (CAQH).
Dr. Bruegel is recognized as one of America’s Top Orthopedists 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017. She has also been selected as a Top Surgeon by the International Association of Healthcare Professionals in 2018.

Wonderful provider with great bedside manner she listened intently to my concerns, dumbed down medical terms so they were easy to understand but most importantly she was thoughtful and caring to my specific needs.
Dr. Bruegel is the one hand specialist I trust. She's very straight forward in her diagnosis and treatment discussions. She makes a rather painful injection bearable with her patient interaction skills. South Coast is fortunate to have her on their staff.

From the moment I walked into the office, the staff was outstanding. I was informed that there may be a little bit of a delay seeing the doctor, but as it turned out, there wasn't really that long of a delay, but I was really delighted to know that I may have to wait a little bit longer than I had anticipated. I was taken to check in immediately upon arrival. Within minutes I was taken into an exam room. I was then taken for X-rays. After evaluating the X-rays, I was seen by the doctor to go over my options. Everything ran like clockwork.

Dr. Bruegel was the nicest doctor I've been to in a long time. I used to go to another orthopedic in Wareham and she by far was the sweetest, the nicest and was actually the most factual. Dr Bruegle was very thorough. She explained things in a clear and understandable manner. She showed me the xrays and explained what she was seeing and what my options were. She formulated an action plan with me asking if I understood and had any questions. Many Southcoast providers should conduct themselves in the same manner that Dr Bruegle does.
Dr B and her staff are all top notch Professional, Knowledgeable and take great interest in their patients. I live in Canton and travel 45 minutes just to have Dr B take care of my both hands with basal joint arthritis. Dr. B is the best far as I'm concerned! Thank you
Always excellent caring healthcare provider & technicians
Dr. Brugal is such a plus to the southcoast family she cares about her patients and the girls in the office are great too. The wait may be a little longer but Dr Brugal is worth the wait. She takes her time, explaining everything in detail and always wants to try the conservative way first.
