About Michael Messina, MD
Dr. Messina started his medical education completing a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry at Boston College. From there he furthered his medical studies at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, receiving his Doctor of Medicine. Michael completed his residency at New Hampshire Dartmouth Family Medicine in Concord.
Dr. Messina’s philosophy of care revolves around providing his patients with the best, most evidence-based care that he’s capable of providing. He strongly believes in listening to his patients and making them feel heard. Dr. Messina believes that doctors provide better medical care when they allow themselves to be human and connect with the human being in front of them.
When not at work, he spends most of his time with his family.

Dr. Mecina takes he time to explain things and listen, which is very appreciated and hard to find these days.
Dr Messina is very warm and thorough. He takes time to listen and explain. He is very knowledgeable and cares about the individual. It is very difficult to find doctors as exceptional as he is today- ones who are enthusiastically engaged, comprehensive in their approach, kind, positive, and leave you feeling like you have a true partner in your health and wellness.
This was my first visit with Dr Messina and although he was late getting in to see me, I felt that he was very personable, professional and knowledgeable. I was very satisfied with the visit overall.

This was my first visit to Dr. Messina as my new PCP. He was very knowledgeable, unhurried and his answers were easily understood. I am very impressed with him.
Documentation and exercise can be very valuable and it takes time to take cues and skills to continue the patient's healthy women's health journey.
Dr. Messina listens to what a patient is needing and helps in the best way possible. He also explains medications and side effects thoroughly. He takes into consideration what the patient is feeling and needing.
Dr Messina reviewed my medical history and questioned certain diagnoses and ct scan. He discussed relevant factors in my current illness. I was extremely pleased with this visit and would even like to have him for my PCP.

Have been seeing Dr. Messina since before he began with South coast, and from day 1 have found him to be an excellent doctor, which is why I chose to continue with him at South coast. He is knowledgeable, friendly, concerned, and overall an excellent physician.

Excellent care from start to finish. Dr. Messina is outstanding and every person I dealt with was cheerful, helpful and nice.
Dr. Messina was very thorough. He listened and looked for answers from a variety of possible causes. He ran late, but I understand why, and completely would wait again for him!!! His medical assistant explained why he was behind, offered me water, and to just ask out the door if I needed anything. I was impressed by my whole experience today. Dr. Messina even checked my bloo and already called in high dose vitamins for my deficiencies. Amazing experience!!!
Staff is courteous and friendly. Dr. Messina takes time to listen to answers and concerns and then readily discusses options. I am always more than satisfied with my visits. It's difficult to find medical providers that spend time with you, don't make you feel rushed and actually remember your history. Dr. Messina fits the bill.

Dr Messina is an excellent physician for me. I have been with him from the Community Health Center to Falmouth Private practice and now Southcoast.He has helped me through numerous medical issues over the years and I can't thank him enough for his knowledge and caring.
My husband and I both had appointments together. They were on time. Michael and his nurse. [Name] were wonderful. To be honest if they weren't, we wouldn't come.
The provider was able to explain in easy ways, but he was 30 minutes late to the appointment time, which was not appreciated.

Always like seeing Dr Messina he explains everything well, listens to my concerns, and is very kind and attentive of my needs and well-being. the sign in and out staff are exceptional very kind and helpful.The only concern that I have is the overall Healthcare system, everywhere, as far as being able to get an appointment or to talk to someone in a timely fashion! Of the surrounding Healthcare companies/facilities, South Coast health does get back to you quicker, but it's almost impossible to see a doctor right away if you're sick and urgent care is very expensive and not always necessary, then to see your GP!There has to be a better way, but all in all SouthCoast Healthcare is better than the others.

Dr. Messina always listens and discusses ways to improve my health. He's on top of all the other professionals involved in my healthcare: dental, gynecology, mammogram , dermatology, vision care, etc.
I appreciate how The doctor listens to my questions and my answers to his questions. The only issue I always have is how late he runs, even when I schedule an early appointment. Gets frustrating.

Dr. Messina is a very intelligent, caring doctor. A combination that in recent years has been hard to find. He explains things well and does not make you feel like he is just trying to get rid of you. Great doc listens and cares
All office/lab staff was incredibly pleasant and helpful, and Dr Messina was excellent. It was obvious how much he cares about his patients' wellbeing in the way he takes the time to explain diagnoses and treatments and made sure all of my questions were answered.
The receptionists are working very hard I understand that. But… they do have a slightly annoyed affect upon greeting. This has happened every time I've come to check in.
Dr. and staff were the best! Dr. went over all my health issues explained everything told me what is most important to take care of first then deal with smaller issues. Love how doctor cares and explained any questions I had about my health.
