Celebrating the Grand Opening of the Wareham Viking Landing Zone

Last week, Southcoast Health and the Town of Wareham celebrated the grand opening of the Wareham Viking Landing Zone.

Adding the second helipad for the community was a collaborative effort between Southcoast Health and the Town of Wareham to improve the area’s emergency response capabilities.

“On behalf of Southcoast Health, I’d like to congratulate our partners, Wareham Emergency Management, Wareham EMS, Wareham Municipal Maintenance, the Wareham Police Department and Senator Kelly Dooner, on the launch of this new landing zone. This is truly a lifesaving benefit to the Wareham community,” said David McCready, President and CEO of Southcoast Health.

In the event of an emergency, the additional landing zone will allow EMS teams to transport more patients who need specialized care faster than before.

“This project represents collaboration, dedication and the shared commitment to public safety,” said Calib LaRue, Wareham Emergency Management Director, during the ribbon cutting ceremony.
