About Linda Stewart, DO
Linda Stewart, DO earned her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California, and worked as a Structural Engineer for a couple of years before deciding to pursue a career in medicine. She went on to obtain her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Touro University College of Medicine in Vallejo, CA. Following, she completed her General Surgery Residency at St. John’s Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY and her Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Stewart is committed to providing care grounded in dignity, respect, and compassion during patients’ most vulnerable moments. She supports patients and their families through acute situations, emphasizing clear communication and building trust from the operating room to the bedside. Valuing each patient’s uniqueness, she strives to ensure their needs and wishes are always prioritized.
Her desire to become a trauma surgeon is driven by a deep commitment to caring for patients during unexpected and often life-threatening situations. Drawn to the challenge of making timely, decisive interventions in high-stakes moments, she embraces a field that integrates all aspects of surgical care—from initial patient contact to performing critical procedures and managing recovery in the intensive care unit (ICU) or on the floors – ensuring seamless continuity throughout the most critical phases.
Dr. Stewart believes that practicing medicine is a privilege. Grateful for the opportunity to care for patients during their most vulnerable times, she strives to treat every patient holistically and with empathy, providing the highest quality of care – just as she would want for herself or a loved one. She strives to stay abreast of the latest developments in the field and holds membership in various professional societies including but not limited to Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.
Outside of work, she values staying active and embraces the outdoors. She’s drawn to triathlon for its diverse challenges and finds harmony in trail running, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Cooking provides her with a relaxing and creative outlet.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.
Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.
How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
