As an Official Sponsor of BSU Athletics, Southcoast’s fund enhances programs, training, and wellbeing for student-athletes.

Southcoast Health and Bridgewater State University have announced the creation of the Southcoast Health Endowed Discretionary Fund, establishing an endowed sponsorship that provides long-term support for BSU student-athletes and the university’s Athletics department.

The endowed fund will be used as a key source of flexible funding that the BSU Athletic Director can use at their discretion to enhance student-athlete development and opportunities. Funds may support team needs, equipment, training and wellness programing, as well as other initiatives to advance BSU Athletics.

The creation of this endowment marks the latest step of an evolving partnership between Southcoast Health and BSU. In recent years the two institutions have collaborated to expand educational pathways in the health sciences for students.

“This endowed fund is yet another example of how Southcoast Health continues to invest in student success and wellbeing,” said Associate Vice President and Chief Development Officer Ellen Cuttle Oliver, “This collaboration strengthens BSU Athletics and opens more opportunities for our students to learn, compete and thrive.”

As part of the sponsorship, Southcoast Health will receive recognition as an “Official Sponsor of BSU Athletics,” including branding in athletic facilities, digital and game-day visibility, gameday program ads, in-stadium public announcement reads and co-branded social media.

“This new fund is a natural expansion of our partnership with Bridgewater State University,” said David O. McCready, President and CEO of Southcoast Health. “We are proud to support these students and the meaningful athletic programs that build strong foundations for them to learn and succeed throughout their academic careers and beyond.”
