About Tushar Kumar MD
Dr. Kumar earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and a residency in radiation oncology at Wayne State University, where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Kumar has conducted research in nano-radio sensitizers and published articles in a number of cancer journals. He has extensive experience in high-dose rate and low-dose rate brachytherapy for a variety of cancers.
Dr. Kumar is a member of the American Society of Radiation Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Radium Society and American Brachytherapy Society.
Dr. Kumar is board certified in radiation oncology.

This was a 'New Patient' visit. All staff were pleasant, informative, and professional. Dr. Kumar was very knowledgeable about my diagnosis, as well as recommended treatments. He explained everything to me in a way I could understand, and we decided on a treatment plan. My thanks to the entire team.

The staff was always very nice always very good always very efficient. They work like crazy. They're constantly on the move. One patient after another, and they never ever ignored me.
Everything was done well, from the receptionist that I met when I first went there, to all the doctors, nurses, and the people that did my therapy. Everyone was wonderful. I couldn't ask for a better experience.

I am most impressed with the staff and their genuine interest in you as a person. Dr. Kumar is direct, informative and very easy to talk to. Dr. Kumar listens and responds in a manner where you feel cared about and are glad you made the decision to let him and his team treat you. This is a special unit I will never forget their kindness.

Was a great experience despite having a cancer diagnosis
Dr. Kumar was absolutely amazing. He was informative, sensitive to my feelings. Make sure I was comfortable and I was not in any pain. The oncology nurse [Name] was the most amazing nurse I have ever been treated by. She had a wonderful bedside manner and made me feel totally ease during my radiation. The entire team was absolutely wonderful.

From the moment I stepped in the door everyone greeted me by name with a smile on their faces. I felt very at ease and comfortable and was able to cope with my cancer treatment better because of the friendly and informative attention I received.

The staff at the breast care clinic all contribute to making the clinic a very caring and supportive environment. They make it easy to trust that the care you are receiving is the best possible and that you are listened to and an important part of the care plan. Dr. Kumar is very knowledgeable and caring. He takes the time to not only answer all questions, but to listen carefully to what patients are saying. He provides information and support in a direct, down to earth way that made me feel like my concerns and issues were being heard.
