About Paul Evans MD
Dr. Paul Evans graduated with honors with his Bachelor of Arts degree from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. He then furthered his medical expertise, earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Univeristy of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Evans completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME where he also completed his post graduate fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Evans is board certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine and is certified in Advanced Life Support. In addition, Dr. Evans is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.
Outside of work, Dr. Evans is a licensed private pilot and a certified SCUBA diver.

The waiting room/ bathroom is very, very clean. The front desk employees are friendly, knowledgeable and respectful. The med asst was precise and thorough. The Dr, as always, never made me feel rushed. He listens to my concerns. Answers my questions thoroughly. Checks in with me throughout the conversation. " do you have any more questions" " do you understand" etc. He fills me with hope and knowledge about my diagnosis
Dr. Evans is and has always been up to date regarding my other health issues from other specialists and my primary provider as well as my psychiatrist nurse specialist. We did discuss about my goals to keep me tobacco free and stress free.
Dr. Evans and his staff are very supportive and helpful. He is very knowledgeable and made me very comfortable talking with him.
This was my first visit and this was the first doctor that explained things in a way I could really understand. He has a way about putting the patient at ease and answered each question completely. He did not rush me and I told him he is now my favorite doctor (I never had one before, especially after my dissapointment with the new pain management doc. I thought it odd that I didn't get a survey for that visit).Anyway, you are very fortunate to have a great doctor at Southcoast

Dr Evans has great clinical expertise, communication and teaching skills, and he created a meaningful and collaborative treatment plan with me. Dr Evans listened to my personal experience of a recent severe illness and hospitalization with careful attention and added to my understanding of my medical conditions and recovery . strategy. I recommend him highly!

As far as knowing my medical information with other specialist. It is almost impossible for them to have time to read up on every patient. I think that is an unrealistic goal

Reception couldn't find my insurance approval that was faxed 10 times, called in over phone, AND I brought it in person and handed to them. That was frustrating. The Dr was amazing.
The doctor was great. He went over sleep study and explained it to me. He was professional . He bed side was good. He took the time to answer questions. I left his office with good understanding of sleeping apnea . Would recommend him very highly !!

Nothing could have improved this visit. Dr. Evans was prompt, clearly had studied my medical history before the appointment, and listened intently to my responses to his questions. He has a wonderful "bedside manner". He answered my questions thoroughly and clearly. He has a great sense of humor. I never felt rushed in any way. I feel very fortunate that he will provide my care. I also appreciated the fact that he discussed options for my ongoing care and collaborated with me to make a plan of care. Dr. Evans is a real credit to Southcoast Healthcare. I could not be more satisfied with him as a provider.
Excellent, caring, knowledgeable doctor and staff
Dr. Evans covered several aspects of my pulmonary care, including the use of my CPAP machine, which I hadn't even thought about. Also, one of his staff walked me back out to the waiting room to help with the doors, so I could deal with my oxygen and walker.
I love everything about Dr. Evans office. The building is spotless. The staff is welcoming. I was taking into my visit the moment I arrived. The nurses were friendly and thorough. Dr. Evans is one of the best doctors I have had in my 73 years. He is caring, that's not rush me and listens and gives me great options and advice. Love south Coast health and Dr. Evans!
This was my first time there so I really can't say much but everything went well. I would go back again.
This was my first appointment with Dr Evan's. He was absolutely wonderful. He spent so much time with me and explained everything in such an easy way to understand all my new health issues and concerns. He asked me many questions too because he wanted to know everything about me and my health. Never did I feel rushed nor did I feel reluctant to ask any and every question on my mind. I feel lucky to have been able to find such a wonderful, caring doctor.
