About Matthew Baltz MD
Dr. Baltz received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut Medical School. He completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in orthopedic surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. He then completed a fellowship in sports medicine at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Baltz is a member of the American Academy of Surgeons and American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. His special interests include arthroscopy of the knee, shoulder and ankle, sports related injuries, and general fractures.
He previously served as assistant team physician for the Boston Celtics and Northeastern University. Currently, he is the team physician for the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and the Wareham Gatemen.
Dr. Baltz is board certified in orthopedic surgery.

Dr Baltz is great
Dr. Baltz is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to about my shoulder issues.I feel very comfortable with Dr. Baltz and trust his judgement as we go forward together.
His bedside manner was poor - he was not personable and insinuated I was not telling the truth - he did not seem to take my expression of pain seriously and rushed out of the room - I was very disappointed.

Dr Baltz and his office staff provide me with timely and efficient care every time I go there. I had a special request to get a surgery done next week and they were able to accommodate me.

Staff was wonderful Dr Baltz was rude, bored, and gave no info on a horrible shoulder injury. He yanked my shoulder and was dismissive and barely looked at the MRI.

I really didn't care for this Dr's bed side manners. He seemed very dismissive and was very contrary to every comment I made. There is a nice way to tell people you disagree with them or the information that they are repeating to you. The facility was nice and clean and I did not wait a long time. The intake person was very nice as well.

Dr. Baltz was great with my daughter. We arrived a few minutes early. She had X-rays performed prior to her appointment. The doctor came into the exam room within a few minutes of her appointment time. Did his exam and explained her X-rays to us thoroughly. Allowed us to ask any questions we may of had. We were in this office for less than 30 minutes from start to finish.

Provider could show more concern for issues mentioned by patient. He seems somewhat detached.
I did not feel that he made a good attempt to diagnose my problem. Gave no attempt to come up with what was wrong with me. I did not feel he really cared. I sit here still with no diagnosis. The physical therapy was my idea and definitely not his.
With an15 minute initial visit, it's difficult to accomplish too much.
I got a walk in appointment right away. I got x-rays of my shoulder, and it was evaluated right then. I received a cortisone shot and im on the mend.

Dr. Baltz and his staff were very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous, and helpful.
Dr. Baltz is very knowledgeable in his field and definitely explains information well. He was genuinely concerned about my health, and made sure I understood. I got immediate results from the medication he prescribed. He also let me know to discontinue taking one of the medications I had on my medication list in MyChart. He said that this medication would counteract with what he prescribed, and to quit taking it. He was AWESOME!!!
