About Joann Chang MD
Joann Chang, MD earned her medical degree at Case Western Reserve University’s School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She then completed her General Internal Medicine Residency through Brown University’s program at Rhode Island Hospital. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Chang’s clinical interests include preventative care, complex care management, and mental health.
Dr. Chang chose to become a primary care physician to serve her patients with preventative care. Her personal philosophy of care involves empowering patients to make their best healthcare decisions. Doctor-patient relationships are important to Dr. Chang, and she believes that these healthcare partnerships bring the best possible care.
In her free time, Dr. Chang enjoys reading and practicing yoga.

My primary doctor is Joannu00A0Chang. I feel so comfortable with her. She's always layed back so it's easier to talk too. She is always on point and she is a pleasure to talk too. My MS doctor referred me to her and I'm so very thankful.

Dr Chang is wonderfulListener and applies her own experiences when approaching her patients and our needs. Dr Chang always listens and cares about her patients.
This was my first visit with Dr. Chang and she made me feel totally comfortable. She was very understanding. She wasn't judgmental. She helped me through the problems I had and made me feel good about them and helped me decide what to do about them.
I went in for an issue. She wasn't going to examine the issue until I had to advocate for myself and request that she do an examination. She was just quick to make a referral.
I waited 30 minutes for the appointment to start. That's my only complaint. Dr. Chang is the best.

Timely appointment, efficient yet friendly process, everything was made very clear. By the next day, several tentative appointments had been made for my follow up. I had to move a couple of them but this was relatively easy as everyone in scheduling was very helpful.
