About Joann Chang, MD
Joann Chang, MD earned her medical degree at Case Western Reserve University’s School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She then completed her General Internal Medicine Residency through Brown University’s program at Rhode Island Hospital. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Chang’s clinical interests include preventative care, complex care management, and mental health.
Dr. Chang chose to become a primary care physician to serve her patients with preventative care. Her personal philosophy of care involves empowering patients to make their best healthcare decisions. Doctor-patient relationships are important to Dr. Chang, and she believes that these healthcare partnerships bring the best possible care.
In her free time, Dr. Chang enjoys reading and practicing yoga.

This was supposed to be an annual physical. It was short. She just reviewed what was on my file and the file that I brought in from my gastroenterologist and I was sick. I told her I had been coughing, that I had a phlegmy cough. She didn't even bother looking in my mouth to check to see if there was anything in there that was causing it. I told her what was going on. I left that office. Nobody stopped me from leaving the office. They called me late in the afternoon to be scheduled for another annual visit. I will not be going back to this office. I just don't feel I can get the care that I need. Sorry.

Dr. Chang is a great Primary Care Provider. She listens to you, she has an amazing bed side manner, she always responds to my messages in MyChart, she is one of the most caring doctors I've had the privilege of being a patient of in my 68 years of life and I'm extremely grateful for for her.

Improve wait times. If the patient is already check in online and early for their appointment, they should not have to wait for 30 mins after disrobing to see the doctor. The doctor suggested I leave if I did not want to wait. If the shoe were on the other foot, I don't think I would be seen by this provider.
Dr. Chang was very knowledgeable. She was very thorough and did an excellent job. I felt she was highly informative and very cautious to her time explaining everything. I would rate her as an absolutely excellent physician. Thank you.
