About James Watson MD
Board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, Dr. Watson earned his medical degree and master’s in public health at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York. He will see patients at Truesdale Medical GI Associates, 1030 President Ave. in Fall River.
Dr. Watson completed his residency in internal medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital. He completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, followed by a fellowship in advanced endoscopy at Duke University in Durham, N.C.
His fields of interest include therapeutic endoscopy, diagnosis and staging of hepato-biliary and gastric malignancy, inflammatory bowel disease, Barrett’s esophagus, and colon cancer screening.
His publications include the Journal of Gastrointestinal Cancer and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

The doctor is phenomenal and exactly why I see him. Listens intently, easy to talk to, very informative and understanding. However, the staff out front was very rude, chastised me, and I was humiliated. It was one woman, the other tried to help and I slid over to her as she tried her best to subdue the negativity. This was not professional.
The support staff was friendly & knowledgeable about the service they provided. Dr. Watson is very personable. He explained the results of my MRI, answered my questions in detail and discussed a future exam. When I asked about alternatives to my current medication he reviewed all the possibilities and recommended I try another medication that had fewer long term effects, to determine if it would provide the same results. I have confidence in Dr Watson and appreciate the medical care he has provided.
Dr Watson is just a great doctor. Always knows how to treat anything I have wrong. Everyone in the office smiles and are very professional.
