About Christopher Skeehan MD
Dr. Christopher Skeehan graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Genetics from the University of Rochester. He then earned his Doctorate of Medicine from New York Medical College. Furthering his medical expertise, Dr. Skeehan completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth prior to his Naval service as a staff Orthopedic Surgeon. Most recently, Dr. Skeehan completed a fellowship in adult reconstruction at New York University Langone Orthopedic Hospital and Insall Scott Kelly Institute. His clinical interests are in both primary and revision hip and knee reconstruction and hip and knee sports medicine.
Dr. Skeehan was inspired to become a physician by his parents, both of whom are physicians. He chose orthopedic surgery after his personal experience with orthopedic surgeons who provided care when he injured himself as a hammer thrower in college. Dr. Skeehan’s personal philosophy of care is centered around cherishing his patients, tracking their outcomes, and always striving to be better for them. He collaborates with his patients, listening to what their goals of care are, while offering different treatment options that will help them achieve their goals with as little intervention as possible.
When not at work, Dr. Skeehan enjoys hiking, snowboarding, surfing, rock climbing, and spending time with his family. Dr. Skeehan is a former member of the United States Navy.

I feel very fortunate that I found a doctor that's so caring and so does a wonderful job. And I feel very fortunate that you have somebody like him at South Coast.
Check out was crazy. The line was so long with check in and check out in the same line that I sat down to prevent more strain on my knee. Once the line went down (12 people ahead of me) I got in line and was efficiently taken care of by the staff.

I am so thankful for Dr. Skeehan and his entire staff on the fantastic job that they did replacing my right hip. I was back on my feet quickly. It was very little downtime. I could not have asked for a better doctor. He knows what he's doing and he did it very, very well. This whole staff was always compassionate and caring towards me. And everything that they did, I am so very thankful for. The next time I have a problem, I'm definitely going back to the same doctor if I ever need another hip or a knee replaced. He is an outstanding surgeon.

there seem to be a mixup with the call center making my appointment verbally with me, but when I arrived there was no appointment scheduled for me. So I was delayed some but was able to see doctor

They are very kind and courteous. They are attentive. And they provide the care that I need. I would like to say that I had missed my appointment earlier in the day thought it was later in the day and when I showed up they mad ea way and I was able to be seen!

This was my first visit and I was kind of nervous at first and he explained everything to me and I ended up getting a shot on both knees and it has alleviated the pain fantastically. Overall experience was good. I am shocked that an orthopedic doctor is not on the ground level of a building. Even getting into the building could be difficult if you were by yourself. My brother is going for cardiac rehab, same thing. Not on the ground floor and the building is not friendly to those that might not be 100 percent

Dr. Skeehan was knowlegable about my condition and truthful. He recommended PT and when I am in excuseating pain I am to come back and see him for a cortisone shot and make an appointment in two years to check my hip.

Dr. skeehan has always been very thorough during all my visits through the process of postop hip replacement. The only thing I was a little disappointed in this visit was I waited for almost an hour and 15 minutes before I got called into the room

I was seeing as soon as I needed the appointment. Dr. skin is an excellent orthopedic surgeon. We wait for the possible options for my knee pain and agreed to have a repeat joint injection. We also talked about plans for the future.

Always a pleasure seeing dr Skeehan , extremely knowledgeable and always on the cutting edge of his work and techniques! Just had X-rays redone and he explained and went over them with me ! Then injected my left upper knee as maintenance! The injection was Not painful at all !

My only issue was having to wait 3 weeks for an appointment.
I had to wait to see the provider for 30 minutes. Staff remedied the situation.

The walk from the elevator to the area where the Dr's are is too long for people with ortho problem's.
Nothing at this time, provider was personable which made me comfortable being it being a meet and greet appointment. He also reinforced my confidence to trust him for my future if need be surgically procedure.
