About Benjamin Weistrop MD
Benjamin Weistrop, MD earned his Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Neurobiology with a secondary study in Psychology from the University of Maryland in College Park, MD. He continued his medical studies and completed his Master of Science in Physiology from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Dr. Weistrop obtained his Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. He completed the Adult Neurology Residency and a Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at Brown University.
Dr. Weistrop is a dedicated neurologist who believes in forming strong, trusting relationships with patients. By fostering an open and supportive environment, he seeks to fully understand each patient’s concerns and collaborate with them to develop personalized care plans that meet their unique needs. He strives to explain conditions in clear, straightforward terms so patients feel informed and empowered.
Inspired by a lifelong fascination with how the brain controls the body, he chose to practice neurology to combine scientific curiosity with a passion for patient-centered care. His practice is grounded in evidence-based medicine, ensuring that every diagnosis and treatment plan is tailored to the individual. He uses electromyography (EMG) and electroencephalography (EEG) for diagnostic evaluations and sees a wide variety of neurologic disorders.
Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, running, watching movies, and spending quality time with family.

Dr W is an excellent communicator, he listens well asking for clarification when needed. I received a thorough examination, and felt I got enough time for my concerns.
Things are fine. Facility has to figure out a way to speed up upcoming appointments. Months in advance are unacceptable and super dangerous .
Ben is calm and relaxed. He understands the situation and is willing to help in many ways offered I didn't need YET. But the help is priceless! Benjamin has a tough job but seems to be handling it amazing !
Did not have an appointment in the follow up timeframe available at current provider location, but was available at a different location which was appreciated.

He really listened to me and instead of just offering a medication he explained my options and asked me what I wanted to do. I had a continuous headache for the last couple of years and within 2 weeks it was gone
Dr. Weisstraub is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and very compassionate, I think. He takes his time and he answered all my questions. He shared the imaging results with me. He explained things. I am very impressed with him and appreciate having him on my care team.

It was a new patient visit, so some items were rated low because I did not yet have a medical history with this provider. The checkout staff was a little abrasive. The check-in staff, provider, and facility were excellent.

Dr. Weistrop was a very good doctor, very knowledgeable, very compassionate, very professional, and the staff is always awesome and comforting. I would recommend them to anybody.
She is always on time and she comes in prepared for our meeting. She has reviewed my records and asks me about how things are going with different health issues. We make a plan to move forward and she reviews it with me and considers my input. She is excellent!
