About Arthur Manoli MD
Arthur Manoli III, MD earned his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine from the New York University Grossman School of Medicine in New York City, New York.
He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the Detroit Medical Center at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He went on to receive fellowship training in adult reconstructive surgery at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. He also completed a fellowship in hip preservation surgery at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
Dr. Manoli has a particular interest in the accurate diagnosis and nonsurgical treatment of complex hip problems and is experienced in the use of ultrasound-guided injections. He uses the latest minimally invasive techniques including computer assisted “post-less” hip arthroscopy, minimally invasive direct anterior hip replacement, computer-navigated total knee replacement and robotic-assisted partial knee replacement surgery.
He was drawn to hip preservation because he feels it is very much a combination of art and science that considers the reconciliation of the patient’s history, symptoms, expectations, physical exam and imaging. Dr. Manoli is committed to patient-centered care, emphasizing the need to thoroughly understand each patient’s unique needs in order to develop a treatment plan tailored to their lifestyles.
His decision to become an orthopedic surgeon was inspired by his father, an orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon. Throughout medical school, Dr. Manoli found himself consistently drawn to orthopedic studies. It was the opportunity to help identify and fix patients’ underlying problems rather than treat a condition that drew him to this area of care.
Dr. Manoli’s research has been presented internationally and he has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals as well as book chapters and scientific presentations. He is a reviewer for the Journal of Arthroplasty.
To him, Southcoast Health has all the advantages of a large healthcare network while remaining to be patient centered.
When not treating patients, Dr. Manoli can be found exploring New England with his wife and daughters.

30 minute wait to be seen by the Doctor
I always refer to office notes after and it took several days for them to be published through AI . Everything was accurate this time
First appointment. From the facility reaching out to me to schedule, to my appointment today was smooth sailing!
I was really impressed when he went over the xrays and explained everything to me and asked if I had any questions or concerns.
The wait time is more than an hour. For people in pain that's too much. Also , if you know my diagnosis I want a solution asap, not appointments to repeat the same.
I am very impressed with Dr Manoli and his staff. They were always on time. Explain things well or kind efficient and solved all my medical issues.
My only complaint was the wait. No one ever came back in the room to explain why the dr was behind schedule. I waited approximately 45 to 50 minutes in the room. I actually went and got my husband to have someone with me after a half hour.
Dr. Manoli is wonderful, but the wait time is always extremely long once in the room. Today wasn't too bad at 40 mins. I've waited well over an hour in the past.
Dr. Manoli was very thorough with his exam, and questions. This is the first time I feel hope of this condition being resolved. He also knew everything from the past history with this issue. Well informed.

When they put you in a room and your appointment is at one time, if it's gonna be a long wait, someone should tell you. The doctor did apologize when I came in I don't know what happened, but it was an hour later.

I found Dr. Manoli to be a caring and an intelligent provider. He did what he could about my health problem but, ultimately, he was unable to fully resolve my problem and he referred me to another specialist. My time with Dr. Manoli is over, but I will not hesitate to return if I have an orthopedic issue in the future, not will I hesitate to refer others to his care if they are in need for an orthopedic specialist.
