About Ansi Pillai MD
Dr. Ansi Pillai graduated from the University of Debrecen in Hungary before completing her residency in internal medicine at the Wilson Regional Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. Her clinical interests include diabetes and obesity.
Dr. Pillai’s philosophy of care is to treat every patient with compassion, empathy and respect. She takes the time to understand each patient’s individual needs and believes as a team, they can come up with a plan to achieve the patient’s desired health goals.
She was inspired by her family members to pursue a career in the medical field. Growing up, her mother was a trauma nurse. Now, her sister, an emergency room physician, and her husband, a nephrologist, continuously inspire her.
To Dr. Pillai, Southcoast Health is an organization that not only supports her desire to give her patients the very best, but supplies her with the resources needed to do so.
When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and cooking.

Fast seen and very no stress
It was a rainy day so I came from work and I didn't have to wait someone had canceled there appointment so they took me in earlier than expected and I was treated very well with kindness and respect

The provider was punctual and proceeded with my thorough introductory exam. She explained everything she was going to do, as well as what she and others in her office would be doing as she and they progressed through getting to know me and treat me for the diabetes which I may or may not need treatment for.
Seeing this new doctor for the first time, I can tell you I was so happy with my whole experience. Good Parking, amazing Front Desk Workers, Clean building and rest rooms. Dr. Pillia was outstanding...I am so happy she accepted me as a new patient. It is so nice to be understood and truly caring. I can't wait to go back for my follow up in a few months.
Do not change appointments that are already scheduled, especially if they are very late.

The appointment was right on time. Dr. Pillai is very thorough with her explanations and listens carefully to my comments, concerns and questions. She is flexible and willing to let me try to work my way out trouble, and this is very motivating for me. My health has definitely improved since I started working with Dr. Pillai, and I look for to additional success in the future.
