About Seth O’Donnell MD
Dr. Seth O’Donnell graduated Cum Laude with his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY and completed his internship in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Portsmouth, VA. Dr. O’Donnell then finished his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University in Providence, RI. After this, he pursued advanced training and completed a fellowship in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery at Rhode Island Hospital followed by a fellowship in Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He then served as Clinical Instructor for Orthopedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School for two years.
Dr. O’Donnell has always been a natural problem solver and enjoys challenges. His personal philosophy of care is centered around collaboration, approaching the treatment of each patient as an individual, exhausting all non-operative measures when possible, and using surgery when indicated to maximize every patient’s opportunity to return to independence and desired activity. He enjoys being able to care for patients across all age and activity spectrums – each with very different functional goals and interests.
When not at work, Dr. O’Donnell enjoys freediving and spear fishing, baking, spending time with his family, and traveling. Dr. O’Donnell is a former Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy.

At check out there was much confusion as where to go!!! Had to go back in a Long line of people checking in.?? Should have signage as it was vèry chaotic. Also, why can't they greet you like you are human instead of a robot? Thank you.

Southcoast orthopedics is a wonderful office, the staff at the front desk are very patient and kind. The X-Ray technicians made me laugh so I felt relaxed. This was the first time I met Dr. O'Donnell and he had obviously reviewed my record prior to the appointment, which is always a plus. He also asked about my Physical Therapy as there were no notes (I am going locally in RI). I received a thorough exam with explanation of what he was looking for, and he answered all of my questions. Before this appointment, I felt something might be wrong with my healing process, but he assured me that is not the case, and I do not need surgery! Thank you for the wonderful care and reassurance.
First visit for lump on ankle that isn't a problem. However, my PCP recommended I see an orthopedist. Xrays done, MRI next. Taken on time, staff pleasant and professional as was the doctor.
The physician was very helpful and courteous about my issue and provided me with some helpful tips .

The check-in process could have been faster, but everything else was perfect. All the staff were very easy to deal with. Very, very pleasant staff.

The staff person who removed my splint, assisted me with the stairs in X-rays, and put in my cast as well as explain how to adjust it Mr [Name] was so respectful, supportive, genuine, and went out of his way to ease my embarrassment when having difficulty getting up the stairs. The entire office was amazing and so helpful and accommodating my first time seeing the doctor and he explained things in a way I could fully understand

Great professional advice
From check-in to check-out, I enjoyed this office. It was easy to park and enter, which is important for someone with lower extremity problems. Dr. O'Donnell asked pointed questions, asked me what I would want to happen and we came up with a conservative plan of care. He is an amazingly credentialed surgeon who doesn't push people toward surgery. I highly recommend this practice.
Dr i saw was ok but not personable at all. He said who he was sat across the room and said what can I do for you?? And just looked at me. I said I dont know. Looked at me again and said nothing until I spoke.
He was kind and listened to what I had to say. He didn't make me feel it was in my mind. He's a very nice man

Dr Seth O'Donnell carefully reviewed the history of my injury (this was my first appt with him for this issue as I was on vacation when it happened). He utilized a model of a skeletal foot to aquaint me with my injury, and invited me to review today's X-rays with him. He gave clear instructions on my next steps of recovery, and made sure I knew to reach back out if I had any concerns about. Y progress. He is a strong communicator. The front desk team is very welcoming.
I had a 9:15 appointment and was not seen by the doctor until about 10:00. Then the doctor spent about seven minutes with me. Unfortunately, I did feel the doctor addressed the multiple concerns with my foot. Nor did I leave with an adequate understanding of my condition and what were the possible options to treat my foot pain and repeated swelling.
Everyone was really courteous and I got in promptly. I think the only thing was I felt incredibly rushed with the doctor and I forgot to ask questions because I just felt so rushed. Other than that, the care was fine.

I wasn't happy with my experience with the sugon and they way I was treated by him and they way what he had suggested I try I did already did and it didn't work and it is constant pain I'm in it's make it hard just walking
