About Jennifer Schwartz MD, FHRS
Jennifer Schwartz, MD, earned her Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from the University of Michigan. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine from New York University School of Medicine in New York, NY.
Dr. Schwartz completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the New York University Medical Center and both a clinical Electrophysiology Fellowship and a clinical Cardiology Fellowship at the New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, NY.
She is board certified in obesity medicine, cardiology, and internal medicine, and is dedicated to providing evidence-based, compassionate care focused on real-life, sustainable solutions.
While practicing as a cardiac electrophysiologist, Dr. Schwartz embarked on her own weight-loss journey, an experience that deeply informs her empathetic, practical approach to patient care. As a working mother, she understands firsthand the challenges of balancing family, career, and personal health, and incorporates this perspective into individualized treatment plans. She is passionate about improving overall metabolic health, reducing cardiovascular risk – particularly in women – and changing the long-term outcomes of weight-related comorbidities through science-driven, patient-centered care.
Outside of work, she enjoys travel, skiing, and cheering on the Michigan Wolverines.

My first time and I was very pleased
Dr Schwartz is very helpful, upbeat and encouraging. I had a list of questions for her and had the opportunity to ask them all and get answers that clarified all my queries. She's terrific!!

My appointment went really well. I was impressed with everybody that I came in contact with, but I was really impressed with Dr. Schwartz. She is absolutely fantastic, sharp as a tack, good listener, very informative, goes above and beyond the call of duty to help you.
I did not know that there are difficulties joining Telehealth calls with Southcoast by cellphone until I contacted my doctor. She told me to use my PC moving forward that cellphones have difficulty with the connection from time to time.
The Dr was very pleasant and very helpful with explaining the meds and how they work. She spent time w us and didn't make us feel at all rushed.

My PCP referral was misplaced two different times. After speaking with the referral receiving team and assured it was received, it was not on file when I arrived for my appointment. Causing a major delay and several phone calls between departments. The check-in staff was very helpful in tracking down my referral.

She was pressed for time as she told me and did not listen to me just decided for herself my treatment plan. She was Very educated as am I and I found her rude and not easy to understand her way!!! I did not want diabetes medicine but got it anyway.

I will say from start to finish was an amazing experience. The last 10 months I have been battle lots of medical issues and no answers. Appropriate timing Welcoming and professional Clean space
Entire experience overall was exceptional. I was welcomed and treated amazing from the moment I checked in to the moment I left. The provider gave me so much information I didn't even know I needed. She guided me and took me through the steps of my new goals and expectations as her patient! I would recommend this office 100 times over and over again. Outstanding and very strong team
