About Christopher Skeehan MD
Dr. Christopher Skeehan graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Genetics from the University of Rochester. He then earned his Doctorate of Medicine from New York Medical College. Furthering his medical expertise, Dr. Skeehan completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth prior to his Naval service as a staff Orthopedic Surgeon. Most recently, Dr. Skeehan completed a fellowship in adult reconstruction at New York University Langone Orthopedic Hospital and Insall Scott Kelly Institute. His clinical interests are in both primary and revision hip and knee reconstruction and hip and knee sports medicine.
Dr. Skeehan was inspired to become a physician by his parents, both of whom are physicians. He chose orthopedic surgery after his personal experience with orthopedic surgeons who provided care when he injured himself as a hammer thrower in college. Dr. Skeehan’s personal philosophy of care is centered around cherishing his patients, tracking their outcomes, and always striving to be better for them. He collaborates with his patients, listening to what their goals of care are, while offering different treatment options that will help them achieve their goals with as little intervention as possible.
When not at work, Dr. Skeehan enjoys hiking, snowboarding, surfing, rock climbing, and spending time with his family. Dr. Skeehan is a former member of the United States Navy.

Visit was informative.
In my summary of my visit, it said that he showed me the model of the hip and how it worked. He did not. He also said that he explained all of the problems that could happen going through my abdomen. He did not. I read it in the booklet he gave me, but he did not tell me any of that. Thank you.

It was difficult to get an appointment
It only took 5 minutes with the doctor to get what I needed, but I had to wait 45 minutes from the time of my scheduled appointment.Other than that everything and everyone was great!
Dr. SHeehan is excellent..he takes the time explaining what needs to be done and listens to your concerns
After sitting for over an hour past my appt. I was seen. I have been a patient of Dr Skeenan for a few years now. He came in & greeted me as a new patient. He didn't listen to what I told him. I had to correct him on what he dictated into my chart pertaining my knee. When I asked about the fluid he pulled out of knee it felt like he blew me off. He didn't look @ my chart while I was there. I feel like none of my needs pertaining to my knees & continued treatment were met.

The office was extremely efficient and informative and the doctor was extremely helpful and gave me leave to make things better for myself. So I would definitely recommend him to other people for the great job he did. Great. Thank you. Bye.

Spend more time with patient
Everyone that I spoke to was very kind and helpful. His PA introduced herself and maid me very comfortable. The x-ray tech was most professional and again helpful and respectful. Dr Skeehan, explained everything to me
Waited in the exam room for 30 minutes for the doctor. The last 8-10 minutes I listened to him tell non-medical stories to his staff. I then saw the doctor for a whole 5 minutes.This is an example of why I prefer Tufts Medical Center. The quality of service and care far exceeds any Southcoast experience.

From the moment I walked in (first appointment), I was treated with respect and kindness.Xray tech was very personable and efficient as were the assistant to the doctor and the observing student. Dr. Skeehan is a remarkable man with such insight, great personality for relaxing patient anxiety, and a kindness in his presentation. I am so thankful for Dr. Skeehan and his entire staff on the fantastic job that they did replacing my right hip. I was back on my feet quickly. It was very little downtime. I could not have asked for a better doctor. He knows what he's doing and he did it very, very well. This whole staff was always compassionate and caring towards me. And everything that they did, I am so very thankful for. The next time I have a problem, I'm definitely going back to the same doctor if I ever need another hip or a knee replaced. He is an outstanding surgeon.

there seem to be a mixup with the call center making my appointment verbally with me, but when I arrived there was no appointment scheduled for me. So I was delayed some but was able to see doctor

This was my first visit and I was kind of nervous at first and he explained everything to me and I ended up getting a shot on both knees and it has alleviated the pain fantastically. Awesome experience with Dr. Skeehan. Answered all my questions, friendly (not dry like most surgeons). Great bed side manner. He made my knees feel like a million bucks! He will definitely be my surgeon when its time for my knee replacement.

He did my total knee surgery. He was professional, kind, always a pleasure to speak with him and his office staff are very pleasant. And I have referred him already to someone else and they have seen him and agreed with me.
My appointments are always on time. All of your physicians and related staff are amazing, caring and professional.
Overall experience was good. I am shocked that an orthopedic doctor is not on the ground level of a building. Even getting into the building could be difficult if you were by yourself. My brother is going for cardiac rehab, same thing. Not on the ground floor and the building is not friendly to those that might not be 100 percent

Dr. Skeehan was knowlegable about my condition and truthful. He recommended PT and when I am in excuseating pain I am to come back and see him for a cortisone shot and make an appointment in two years to check my hip.
